My daughter was killed on 9/11 of this year on her bike. She was my only child. I had to go and get her and bring her home to Colorado. She was my life! I was driving around before her memeorial and Cat Stevens song came on the radio, how very young that you leave us this time, you are only dancing on this world for a short while. I had that put on to her memeorial cd. Yesterday by Paul Mcarthey was also another song I heard that day. I know Jasmine was with me and had these songs play. Pete you are and inspiration to so many and you will be missed forever. Any time I hear these songs, I will think of you and the joy you brought to my life.
It was a short time for you to be dancing in this world, and it does make the goodby harder still.

My Best of All songs.Cat was prophetic in coining this song.The music and message combines in a harmony that touches one's heart and soul.Reminds me that in the passage of time surely man is in a state of loss except those who build faith,do good, exhort to Truth and patience;flowing from the essence for creation -Love.

One of my favourites of Cat's songs. I think the message he is putting forward in this song is the shortness of life and what good you do with it while you're here on earth.
I believe he's trying to say don't waste your precious time on earth with pipe dreams and unimportant issues because you only have one chance at having a meaningful life. It's a strong message. It's a strong song.

Love this song, I think it is about a relationship, rather maternal, in which love has been lost.. and peace has not been made.. when its all said and done you can say goodbye or not, but its still gonna be hard, then it seems to question, what are you doing in this world, what will you do to make this world a better place, "You're only dancing on this earth for a short while", use your opprtunitys (did'nt spell right) to do good, to make good.
