Review about Oh Shenandoah A beautiful lamentation | Reviewer: David ramsdell | 10/30/2006 As a lifelong resident of the shenandoah valley, through which the river runs, this song has always filled my heart with pride and has brought a tear into my eye on more than one occasion. I can understand the deep emotional connection that the writer of this song so beautifully expresses through the lamentation of having to leave it.
