Nowhere Kids Lyrics - Smile Empty Soul
Review The Song (6)
in the land of dirt and plaster
lies an army of a thousand nowhere kids
losing ground and falling faster
into a life that no one should have to live
we are the people that you hate
we are the bastards that you created
a generation with no place
a generation of all your sons and daughters
behind the fake family image
behind the smile of a thousand moms and dads
inside the cage that we've been given
i see an image of the future that we don't have
we are the people that you hate
we are the bastards that you created
a generation with no place
a generation of all your sons and,
we are the people that you hate
the fucking bastards that you created
a generation with no place
a generation of all your sons and daughters
and what did you expect ... a perfect child
raised by tv sets ... abandoned every mile
we never get respect ... never a fair trial
no one gives a shit ... as long as we smile... smile...smile
we are the people that you hate
we are the bastards that you created
a generation with no place
a generation of all your sons and,
we are the people that you hate
the fucking bastards that you created
a generation with no place
a generation of all your sons and daughters
lies an army of a thousand nowhere kids

From an outsider ... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/15/12
I am a middle school teacher, and I just heard this song on my iPod as it was shuffling. I had forgotten it was even there. Anyway, it made me really sad to realize how much it reminded me of many of my students and their parents. I was especially struck by the line: "and what did you expect ... a perfect child
raised by tv sets ... abandoned every mile"
They aren't taking care of their kids, and they expect us to 'fix' them. Often, we are the only adults in their lives who they believe care anything for them. It's sad.

this song is extremely explanatory of how kids are raised.my parents used to honestly sit mw down in front of the television and leave me there for hours on end.no parental one on one time.
if you liked this song you should listen to silhouettes by smile empty soul as well.
kind of a broken home song like this one in a sense is

This song really reminds me of growing up through suburbia. I mean I wouldn't give up on them, but I can't say I like them that much either.
My Dad reminds me of Norman Osborn, in that he always demands me to be perfect. Nothing I do is ever good enough. I've never been a sports guy, I'm a film guy - recently found out that that kinda has always bothered him as well.
I don't know, nothing I ever do is good enough for them. Others looking in might think it's 'perfect' behind the fake smiles, but within? It's hell.

Simply an amazing song, and so true for a lot of kids, which is sad. More people should listen to this song. I've gotten so many people hooked on it, and it's really the first song that got me into the band, even though Bottom of a Bottle is the first I listened to.
chyeah. | Reviewer: ashley | 10/27/07
this is a good ass song =].
its funny cuz my mom & dad put on a front so their fake, and they act like they want me to be so perfect all the time, and when i try to be it doesnt seem to be good enough.
