I've been a big fan of Nick Drake for many years. Initially I think I was most interested in his guitar playing. Then there came along a second phase where my fascination centered on his songs. Northern Sky is a great one. We all know what happened to Nick but look at what he left behind...
This song is about the excitment/euphoria that comes at the beginning of a relationship. Drink it in. Give thanks. Etc.

I first heard this track on an island sampler EL PEA in the early 70's and it has been a track that I have always remembered. Although it is a wonderful track with haunting melody there also seems a certain sadness to it which obviously came from Nicks personality as he went on to commit suicide...such a shame. If you haven't heard it try to get a copy !!!!

This is the most beautiful song, its relaxing and graceful. We heard it on U-Tube attached to a wedding video and we fall in love with it. It will be our wedding song when we marry in Hershey, PA May 1, 2010
