No Prayer For The Dying Lyrics - Iron Maiden
Review The Song (1)
(Harris)
There are times when I've wondered
And times when I've cried
When my prayers they were answered
At times when I've lied
But if you asked me a question
Would I tell you the truth
Now there's something to bet on
You've got nothing to lose
When I've sat by the window
And gazed at the rain
With an ache in my heart
But never feeling the pain
And if you would tell me
Just what my life means
Walking a long road
Never reaching the end
God give me the answer to my life
God give me the answer to my dreams
God give me the answer to my prayers
God give me the answer to my being
There are times when I've wondered
And times when I've cried
When my prayers they were answered
At times when I've lied
But if you asked me a question
Would I tell you the truth
Now there's something to bet on
You've got nothing to lose
When I've sat by the window
And gazed at the rain
With an ache in my heart
But never feeling the pain
And if you would tell me
Just what my life means
Walking a long road
Never reaching the end
God give me the answer to my life
God give me the answer to my dreams
God give me the answer to my prayers
God give me the answer to my being

Not one of their best, still cool! | Reviewer: Morgan | 11/8/11
This is the title track of Iron Maiden's No Prayer For The Dying album. It starts of with a soft guitar melody with a cool backing bassline which seems to compliment the already melodic guitar. Bruce Dickinson doesn't give one of his best vocal performances here, but he still smokes the Jonas Brothers' asses, IMO, which is true. Its a cool song if you like slow maiden tunes, but still not their best. Go check out The Trooper, Fear Of The Dark, Sign Of The Cross (Rock in Rio version), Hallowed be thy name, Aces High, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Powerslave and Wasted Years if you yearn for Maiden's best. They are without doubt one of the World's best Heavy Metal bands, even their least decent records are way better than what most modern artist put out today, especially Jonas Brothers & Justin Gayber!
