Ozzy Osbourne No More Tears Lyrics

Last updated: 07/27/2011 11:00:00 AM

The light in the window is a crack in the sky
A stairway to darkness in the blink of an eye
A levee of tears to learn she'll never be coming back
The man in the dark will bring another attack

Your momma told you that you're not supposed to talk to strangers
Look in the mirror tell me do you think your life's in danger, ya

No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears
(No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears)(for long version)

Another day passes as the night closes in
The red light goes on to say it's time to begin

I see the man around the corner waiting, can he see me?
I close my eyes and wait to hear the sound of someone screaming here

No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears

(Spoken:)
It's just a sign of the times
Going forward in reverse.
Still, he who laughs last
is just a hand in the bush.

So now that it's over can't we just say goodbye? bye bye Good bye
I'd like to move on and make the most of the night
Maybe a kiss before I leave you this way
Your lips are so cold I don't know what else to say

I never wanted it to end this way my love, my darling
Believe me when I say to you in love I think I'm falling here

No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears
No more tears, tears, tears

(spoken)

He's just a hand in the bush

My Two Cents | Reviewer: L Dog | 7/26/11

Zak Wylde wrote and recorded this song. He later brought it to Oz when he played in Ozzy's band. Oz liked it so much he put it on his own album with Zak's permission. It's a great song one of my faves. I like Zak's origional recording of it just as much as it sounds almost identical to Oz's version. Makes sense since Zak played guitar, piano,as well as sang vocals. Zak's later version with black label society is a little too hardcore and not quite as good in my humble opinion.

Why? | Reviewer: SlntCobra1 | 3/7/10

What I want to know is why on most radio stations do they edit this part out?

I mean they'll play "Won't Get Fooled Again" for the whole 8.5 minutes and other 6+ minute songs in their entirety while they cut this particular song to like 5 minutes or something. It's really annoying.

In the third verse, it definitly goes: "So now that it's over, can't we just say goodbye? (bye, bye, goodbye)", because it it would be goodnight instead of goodbye, the rest of the text wouldn't make sense with this line. "I'd like to move on and make the most of the night" comes right after. So does he wanna go to bed and then make the most of the night? Don't really think so. Plus, if it would be goodnight instead of goodbye, he would use the same word to rhyme with the next line, and I don't think Ozzy would like it that way. And also, bye kinda rhymes with night, if you have Ozzys way of pronouncing word.

dispute over goobye vs good night | Reviewer: karlie | 12/2/09

It definitely says "goodbye" ..not goodnight.. its more fluid with "bye bye Good bye" that follows as the echoed part of the song...Besides, the whole song doesnt rhyme .. If you notice the song's sectional differences do not rhyme.. they just flow and sound good. Most of the verses rhyme but its not like its a rule...

However... | Reviewer: Hana | 1/10/09

Jacob Coffman: "im pretty sure that it says "So now that it's over can't we just say goodnight" not "So now that it's over can't we just say goodbye" because the rest of the song has rhyme and that doesnt rhyme with the next line"

Lyrics: "So now that it's over can't we just say goodbye? bye bye Good bye
I'd like to move on and make the most of the night"

If it said what you think it says, would that not be repetitive?
I believe the lyrics are correct and you are thinking too much about the rhyme scheme.

i agree | Reviewer: Mike | 12/12/08

i agree with jacob, when i listen to the song i sware it says so now thatits over cant we just say good night. and later i think it says "Bye bye, night night" but on that part im not entireley sure on, maybe it is good bye. im gonna have to listen to it again to be sure but i cant right now im at school. again im not entirely sure if it says good bye or night night

dam good song | Reviewer: isabell milanovic | 4/1/08

i think ozzy is just so great to wirte a song of no more tears. me and my freind would sing to this song when we were angry and happy. the reason why i say this beacuse it is just a good song to listen to

mistake | Reviewer: Jacob Coffman | 1/14/08

im pretty sure that it says "So now that it's over can't we just say goodnight" not "So now that it's over can't we just say goodbye" because the rest of the song has rhyme and that doesnt rhyme with the next line

mistake | Reviewer: Kristian Callan | 6/17/07

the first "no more tears" chorus has 4 lines but you only have 3 lines typed.
