No Bravery Lyrics - James Blunt

Review The Song (7)

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Says, he has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

So..? | Reviewer: Millzy | 10/25/10

This song is beautiful.
It can apply to many things, depending on your view.
I am absolutely in love with this song, as it has such a strong meaning, and is pretty darn heartfelt.
I used this song as a tribute to those suffering in Afghanistan and Iraq at the current time for a performance in my School Assembly.

There are just some songs that have no singular meaning. It could be about Kosovo or the holocaust, but on a much wider spectrum this song could represent anything from war torn nations, the plight of innocent civillians in those areas, dictorial regimes, and even the war in Iraq and afghanistan from the perspective of families living in those areas. The list is endless.

I'm typing on my itouch so pleas don't be a grammar freak an point out my errors. I am aware of them, so get a life and become and english teacher or something.

Shut Up please! It has nothing to do with holocaust! you people are really stupid! Anyway, The song is great, reminds me of roger and Pink Floyd.

I would point this song more to Blunt's time in Kosovo peace keeping missions but it does apply to the Holocaust quite well, too.

I would actually point this song more to Blunt's time in the Kosovo peace keeping missions but it does apply to the Holocaust quite well, too.

This is a brilliant song (I think at least) about the Holocaust. BLunt is describing the events and the graphic events of the holocaust, and the fact that sadness has taken over the lives of the persecuted jews.
