New York Lyrics - Eskimo Joe

Review The Song (13)

Hey, hey, I know it wasn't New York
Where I lost my mind.
Hey, hey, I know I must have left it
It was back home all the time.

And where were you while we lay
So drunk that we died?
Hey, Hey, I know, but who could blame us?
Under pressure
And I know
I know I should have stayed in bed.

Hey, hey, I know it's just a toothache
I won't even cry.
Hey, hey, the candy store prescriptions
All lined up in the aisles.

And where were you while we lay
Shipwrecked in denial?

Hey, hey, it's just a pill to help you
Sleep right through the night.
I should have stayed in bed.
And I know
I should have stayed in bed.

I know I should have stayed in bed because
Tomorrow's gonna be another party.
You stay too long until the lights get lonely.
Oh, tomorrow's gonna be another party
Wait too long til we
All stay out of the sun.
Sun.
I know, I know, it wasn't New York

Wow, an amazing song. | Reviewer: Travis | 11/24/2007

I keep hearing it as I am shopping in Express for Men, in the mall. I am glad I finally found it and who sang it. Great song.

Awesome | Reviewer: Donny | 7/9/2007

I listen to lots of music and sometimes (not very often) I hear something that makes me stop and really listen - New York is such a song - it's awesome!

eh? | Reviewer: someone | 6/18/2007

It's a wicked song - even if it had almost nothing to do with New York. But hey it's catchy and addictive - I love it!

almost biographical. | Reviewer: L-ren. | 5/13/2007

i first heard this song in the car, driving to work, i had to pull over to side of the road and just listen.
i'd just come back from living in manhatten finishing a degree in fashion.
family and friends had all accused that new york and all its pressures had spiriled me ito a drunken, drug afflicted, depression.
so this song scared me incredibly, and hurts to listen to; but so many memories emrge from it; good and bad.

Wrong words | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/8/2007
