Link it to the world
Link it to yourself
Stretch it like a birth squeeze
The love for what you hide
The bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born
When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere
Hopeless time to roam
The distance to your home
Fades away to nowhere
How much are you worth
You can't come down to earth
You’re swelling up, you're unstoppable
'cause you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere
Destroy the spineless
Show me it's real
Wasting our last chance
To come away
Just break the silence
'cause I’m drifting away
Away from you
Link it to the world
Link it to yourself
Stretch it like it's a birth squeeze
And the love for what you hide
And the bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born
When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere
Destroy the spineless
Show me it's real
Wasting their last chance
To come away
Just break the silence
‘cause I'm drifting away
Away from you

Review about New Born You are all wrong | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/8/09
Matthew Bellamy on New Born: "a feeling of not being connected to each other, but we are, and it's a feeling of the mind evolving from the body, but when that happens you just get this yearn to do something physical and feel something sensational, physical-ness-ness".
That's what the song is about...
Meaning of the lyrics | Reviewer: Nilo | 9/27/09
I'm thinking the song relates to someone who has been raped, early age(When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere) and now is concieving a child but then the child is the evidence of the disgrace, so this child is hated (The bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born) and the part (The distance to your home) I'm guessing the girl has run away from home.

i totally agree with kyle wen i first heard the song i knew it had sumn to do with regret and sin and then i thought of how the part about drifting away was between two people but even with the obvious birth squeeze line i never linked it to abortion till i saw the word in the comment. this song really is strong
Twilight/breaking dawn | Reviewer: Jacob-black<3 | 8/2/09
Even though this song was written and completely established before the twilight saga breaking dawn, i believe it fits perfectly (spoiler) when bella becomes a vampire and shes new. It reminds me if her first reactions to her new life. It also sort of gives a run through of her life before when she was a fragile human. She saw, thought, knew...way too much about vampires(as well as werewolfes)! And now her life is spread out before her in one moment but now its all forgotten and shes become her most prized fantasies, a vampire. As well as the connection from the song to book- book to song, muse is one of my newest favorite bands. Their music always has so much meaning and i love the way the music always flows!
First of all, New Born is about technology and we all know that Matt is definitely an enemy of it :P
Second, this song is awesome, I wish that strong riffs like the ones in this song would be in The Resistance, I'm still hoping for it!
Thirdly (?) I love Muse :D
Cheers!
Yeah im thinking this song may have been written about abortion from a pro choice perspective, (link it to the world, link it to yourself) meaning think about how the decision will affect you and possibly the world. (the bitterness inside, is crawling like a new born) the womens hatred for the kid, associating it with the situation that created it, (too young, too young, souless is everywhere) first part self explanatory, the second part possibly about how many bad lives are being lived by people with parents who should have aborted them (destroy the spineless, show me its real) meaning its not a human yet, show me some proof that it is. He may have not written it about this, but is kinda makes sense. I hope not, Im not too strictly conservative but im pretty intolerable when it comes to abortion.

Great Song I found it by watching the movie High Tension Haute Tension original name french flick great movie but it was the end credits song while the girl was psychotically screwed and the creepy ambience with the song made the ending so much more powerful ever since I will be amazed of muse's talent
The first time I heard this song, I must say, I actually got chills. Real chills. This is one of those haunting songs that has enough edge to have a lasting effect on your psyche; coupled with the lyrics, "New Born" is a positively wonderful song. With this formula, Muse never fails.
I love this song but when I listened to it for the first time where it said birth squeeze I thought it said butt squeeze. LMAO!
