New Born Lyrics - Muse

Review The Song (22)

Link it to the world
Link it to yourself
Stretch it like a birth squeeze
The love for what you hide
The bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born
When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere

Hopeless time to roam
The distance to your home
Fades away to nowhere
How much are you worth
You can't come down to earth
You’re swelling up, you're unstoppable
'cause you've seen, seen
sponsored links
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere

Destroy the spineless
Show me it's real
Wasting our last chance
To come away
Just break the silence
'cause I’m drifting away
Away from you

Link it to the world
Link it to yourself
Stretch it like it's a birth squeeze
And the love for what you hide
And the bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born
When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere

Destroy the spineless
Show me it's real
Wasting their last chance
To come away
Just break the silence
‘cause I'm drifting away
Away from you

suicide | Reviewer: Mohammad | 10/27/11

this song reminds me of one of my cousins. she commited a suicide and killed herself with some pill. she was just 16. she was too young when she saw death. her death was so heart breaking. i feel like shit when i remember how she died. she was in pain all her short life because of her crazy father and finally she killed her self when she found out that she has to leave her mother to live with her father. too young...

Why?? | Reviewer: Tara | 4/2/11

Why are you all trying to get something out of a song and find out what the song had been written about? The good thing about most of Muse song(and other bands like it) is that you can think of whatever is in your mind-bothering you and you can feel like i may be not alone having this difficulties while im Too Young!
Its not about what the song has been written to say, its all about what you want to be said! Thats what im trying to say!

Muse, and only Muse. | Reviewer: Beastiality or Necrophilia? | 6/26/10

Im really sick of all of this relating Twilight to Muse! do you people shit on the bible? NO! SO DON"T REFERENCE MUSE TO TWILIGHT! This is the great Muse we're talking about!,This is back when Matt was all for his conspiracy theories, not composing music to fit the cinematic effect of that Bella bitch finding out she is a shiny person! not only that, but now girls are going back to their old songs, BACK WHEN "twilight" was still in tht authors forsaken subconscious. and trying to relate music to this poorly acted, and horribly movie. MUSE FOREVER! NOT TWILIGHT!

Great song, but please... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/29/10

Hey there! Would you please avoid to link every Muse's song to the Twilight saga? I can't think of this awesome song "Perfect for Bella's pregnancy"... :-( I'm glad that Muse are more famous because of that books - they deserve it! - but try to get deeper in Muse's songs as Muse's songs, not as Stephenie Meyer's alterego in music.
Anyway, the song is... I'm lost for words... it's something perfect, like all their songs.
-10 days to Milan's concert! :-)

Muse & Twilight - Perfect Match | Reviewer: Caroline | 4/21/10

This is one of Muse's best songs ... it actually sends chivers down my spine and almost gets my eyes wet ... totally captivating, entrancing, fascinating smothering ... remarkable.

Two last comments are VERY interesting to read.

And I absolutely agree that this is the ONE song (the first minute and twenty-five seconds of it, at least) that would perfectly be fitted for Breaking Dawn, during Bella's conversion into a vampire and "waking-up" phase thereafter ... would be extraordinary to have that specific song over that scene of Breaking Dawn.

Think Outside the Box People | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/18/10

The song is about Matt beginnig to believe in "conspiracy theories". Seen, seen too much is him grasping the underlying realty. Destroy the spineless, and show me it's real is him struggling with these "New Born thoughts". Drifting away from you is him feeling disconnected from his friends and loved ones. There are other parts of the song that make it obvious this is about a state of mind, not a physical event.

You are all wrong | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/8/09

Matthew Bellamy on New Born: "a feeling of not being connected to each other, but we are, and it's a feeling of the mind evolving from the body, but when that happens you just get this yearn to do something physical and feel something sensational, physical-ness-ness".

That's what the song is about...

Meaning of the lyrics | Reviewer: Nilo | 9/27/09

I'm thinking the song relates to someone who has been raped, early age(When you've seen, seen
Too much, too young, young
Soulless is everywhere) and now is concieving a child but then the child is the evidence of the disgrace, so this child is hated (The bitterness inside
Is growing like the new born) and the part (The distance to your home) I'm guessing the girl has run away from home.

right on | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/13/09

i totally agree with kyle wen i first heard the song i knew it had sumn to do with regret and sin and then i thought of how the part about drifting away was between two people but even with the obvious birth squeeze line i never linked it to abortion till i saw the word in the comment. this song really is strong

Twilight/breaking dawn | Reviewer: Jacob-black<3 | 8/2/09

Even though this song was written and completely established before the twilight saga breaking dawn, i believe it fits perfectly (spoiler) when bella becomes a vampire and shes new. It reminds me if her first reactions to her new life. It also sort of gives a run through of her life before when she was a fragile human. She saw, thought, knew...way too much about vampires(as well as werewolfes)! And now her life is spread out before her in one moment but now its all forgotten and shes become her most prized fantasies, a vampire. As well as the connection from the song to book- book to song, muse is one of my newest favorite bands. Their music always has so much meaning and i love the way the music always flows!
