however you look at it, both took it from the smiths. there is no smiths fan from the 80's who didn't immediately think "panic! at the disco" was some sort of smiths cover band when they first heard the name... since the smith's song says panic and disco 500 times

i looked this song up coz i saw on wikipedia that panic at the disco got their name from the lyrics. it also said somthing about the smiths, but guys, seriously, it only makes more sense that they got it from this song coz the lyrics match perfectly. panic at the disco only says stuff about the smiths coz it's easier to explain to the peple who don't know about tha band called name taken. i heard this song on AOL the other day and i LOVED it. i love panic at the disco!!! i love them more than i love myself and they mean the world to me. brendon urie and ryan ross are the 2 sexiest guys alive and i will always support them. go to google.com/images and u will find the HOTTEST pic.'s of them together. go see. u'll find out.
