Nada Surf is an American band from New York playing rock-punk-pop music. The three band-members are Daniel Lorca on bass, Matthew Caws playing the guitar and Ira Elliot, the drummer. backgrpund Nada Surf was formed in 1994. At that time Nada surf consisted of 4 members. This didn't really work out very well because the singer quit, and soon thereafter drummer left Nada surf too. Matthew Caws and Daniel Lorca were now alone in the band. They desperately needed a drummer. In 1995 Matthew and Daniel convinced Ira Elliott - a friend since 1984 - to join the band. Matthew and Daniel started doing the vocals instead of finding a new singer. The band as we know it today was complete. Daniel and Matthew, long-time friends since grade school, got the idea of More... Take the line about, "Being attractive is the most important thing..." Hate to let those young enough not to realize it, your looks will fade with time, you will not stay as thin as you are now, you may loose your hair boys, you may loose your figure girls. Even if you maintain it for a time, eventually you will succumb to the same processes we all do in life. So, if you evaluate worth on narrow, narcissistic criteria which will wane with time, what do you have left? If you're an awful human being, your looks leave you, but who and what you are generally doesn't. It's definately not about how twisted popularity is, and I don't even think it's bad (but that's only my opinion). It's about breaking up with people, and even if it's a short amount of time, if you make the break up all emotional, it will make the person being dumped more emotional, and if you just say "It's over", it may seem insensitive, but people are very able to forget about it if you are that direct. I believe this is very true, I was in this same situation.
