Band History
Here's a great idea, let's get the guy in the band who
smokes the most pot to write a band history. That's me. The
guy who couldn't remember what was said five minutes ago if
his life depended on it. You try and write down the last 16
years of your life and make it seem relevant?
First Practice 1983
Here's what I do remember. I was sitting with a kid named
Dillon in our usual spot with the other punkers during
lunchtime at Fairfax high school. He was a drummer, and we
were dissatisfied with the bands we were in. My band
consisted of me and my one and only Punk Rock friend both
playing guitar and singing and that was it. Neither one of
us had finished any songs. Not quite a recipe for success.
So I sez to my friend, let's start a band. A real band, a More...

------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX
the song should make you think abouth what america has been and what it has become.it does if you have enough brains to see it.if you don't i will help:FOR THE LAST 50 years the USA suck's ass big time.
NOFX knows what they're talking about here. Like there's this christian girl in my class that won't shut the fuck up about Jesus and believes every word in the fucking bible. every time I say something like "Jesus-titty-fucking-christ-on-ice-the-musical-two" she starts praying in her head for me to seek salvation. I'm so glad there aren't that many christians in my town like her, or they would turn into a radical group and terrorize atheists like me. and I'd like to say that we have to fix this countrie's problems, not leave, otherwise there'll be only christians and catholics in this country and they'll launch a worldwide crusade against everyone who doesn't think like them. It'll be a new dark age. BTW most country music is propaganda, no offense

------ About the song Idiots Are Taking Over performed by NOFX
This title of this song is so true, yet the lyrics make absolutely no sense. We are not left with God-fearing people. The media, controlled by liberals, which are the idiots, attack Christianity every chance they get. Reason is being fancied over faith.

------ About the song Linoleum performed by NOFX
I remember when I was a kid listening to this song, I always thought he said violin under my chin, playing with a grin, singing GBH. Funny thing is, me being just a kid who was first getting into punk rock through bands like NOFX, I had never heard of GBH, just a fun coincidence I guess
fuck religion | Reviewer: zazo
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX
i mean...this song makes my think...you know why religion is still alive? they teach it to us when we're little! holy shit, just like nazis, who used to teach to theyr lil son that jews are pieces of shit. it's something perverted and wrong with this all...i mean HOLY FUCK we keep believe in bullshitz cuz they teach em to us when we're little...whole "prays" in mind. "i believe in one god, father, son n saint spirit etc" FUCK THIS! the people should wake up and recognize that they're repeating bullshit from the MEDIEVAL TIME! at that time we believed that the world was flat...

------ About the song Lori Meyers performed by NOFX
I love this song, and I love the message it has in it.
About people's choices in life, specifically the porn industry, about how people seem to think of it as being degrading for the women when there are much more degrading things they could be doing that are common and over looked.

------ About the song Bob performed by NOFX
bob had to stop drinking because his liver was destroyed.
he shaved his head, met a girl, went to punk rock shows, got in fights, and snorted cocaine.
will he ever "walk the line" is asking Will her every be true to himself and not doing drugs..walking the line is staying sober (field sobriety tests have you attempt to walk a straight line heel-toe). this is also a johnny cash reference...see the song "I walk the line"
coming from a hick/trendy (somehow those mix here) town on the west coast I can't fucking walk out of my house without stares, glares, and insults. you can't be considered very different without being hated by someone. the only "different" people not despised here are the ravers and they truely don't stand up for anything but drugs. I agree with NoFX wholeheartedly they show 'the unfortunate truth' in this song. i'd love nothing else to leave (but i am still 2 years too young) besides much of the world isn't too much better.
this is one of my favorite songs, it sounds great and spits the truth in your face. i reccomend this to anyone who's been beat down because you stand up for something you truly believe in that's not popular.
youll understand exactly every word they say in this song.
go to the store and be stared at and hated on my everyone. go to school and talk to anyone your not close to and have religion thrown at you. go to a show and have kids that go through the exact same thing day after day.
fuck "jesusland"
but great song anyway.

------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX
Everything about Belgium sounds good, but I think a six year-old buying booze is more sad then exciting.
But anyways, this is a great song. Yeah NOFX is a little hypocritical. They complain about the Christians alienating people, then they alienate country musicians. But they don't give a fuck what I think for sure. Plus country music is horrible anyways.
Come to Belgium Everyone | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX
i'd agree 100% if I was stoned, now however,
I think it's all a bit to easy. Sure most religious freaks are fucked up idiots and most art students and druggies are peaceful and openminded reds, but saying "I hate to generalise" and then generalising through the entire song...
Just come to Belgium all of you guys who agree with this song;
it's ok to smoke pot, there is good quality coke around if you'd like that, a six year old can buy any kind of booze anywhere (from a shop to a bar) and there are a lot of good bands around. See Ya
