NOFX Lyrics

Band History
Here's a great idea, let's get the guy in the band who
smokes the most pot to write a band history. That's me. The
guy who couldn't remember what was said five minutes ago if
his life depended on it. You try and write down the last 16
years of your life and make it seem relevant?

First Practice 1983
Here's what I do remember. I was sitting with a kid named
Dillon in our usual spot with the other punkers during
lunchtime at Fairfax high school. He was a drummer, and we
were dissatisfied with the bands we were in. My band More...

Review about NOFX songs
One of my Favorite NOFX Songs! | Reviewer: Lauren
------ About the song Pharmacists Daughter performed by NOFX

This is easily one of my favorite NOFX songs. It's so catchy and sounds awesome with its melody and awesome solo and everything. It's definitely one of their best. "Pump Up the Valuum" is a fantastic album; also listen to "Total Bummer;" that's one of their best, too.

Awesome song! NOFX is amazing.

Unique Writing Style | Reviewer: Karin
------ About the song Best God In Show performed by NOFX

Aside from agreeing with the message of this song, I am intrigued by Mike's style of writing. The way he escalates his feelings from detest to abhorrence is very interesting and quite unique. Not the only song Mike has written like this, and I cannot recall any other writer who does this. It would be a dream come true to pick his brain and talk about song writing. I am doubtful I will ever have the privilege to hang out with him and discuss how he goes about writing, but I will put it on my bucket list nonetheless. Keep going Mike, you are giving the likes of Lennon/McCartney a run for their money!

------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

This is not a political discussion, and it's not a review of other people's reviews. We all know the US is messed right up, and spelling really has nothing to do with how smart you are, for all you know English is these people's second language. In review of the LYRICS, They are for the most part correct, a couple lines don't seem to be right, but NOFX has always been notorious for changing their lyrics around, so I don't think that's the fault of the person who submitted the lyrics.

------ About the song Linoleum performed by NOFX

This song is about, not neccesarily "homless" people, but people who have very little, and are at times going crazy. I think it may be from a young fat mike's point of view, not having very much, but i dont know much about his childhood, so that's just a guess.

Idiotic | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

You can notice a sharp contrast in spelling and sentence structure in the comments of people who enjoy this song. IE- "We need to save this countrie" LMFAO, what a joke. Stupidity is rampant in ALL walks of life and I see it predominantly from ignorant young "leftist" activists. Its amazing how vehemently passionate some of you hate religion yet can't even state which congressional district you live in or who your representatives are. More so none of these idiots can quote a single portion of our constitution. The difference is the majority of the people in "Jesusland" can. You tell me who strayed from the tenets set forth by the founding fathers that necessitates the "countrie" being saved. I'd love to smash fat mikes dumbass in a debate. He's a piece of shit.

------ About the song The Separation Of Church And Skate performed by NOFX

@anonymous at the last verse there are three singers, Fat Mike, Melvin and El Hefe. in the previous verses it's only Fat Mike and Melvin, Hefe's first line is: "You killed the owl, you freed the dove"

Good music, but message is too intolerant | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

I like NOFX's musical styling, but their lyrics are too intolerant.
People think tolerance is all about accepting homosexuals and liberal ideas with an open mind, and it is, but that's only half of it.
It's also about accepting people who read the bible, have different opinions about things like gun control and same-sex marriage.
It's easy to be tolerant to one side, but totally blowing off an entire group of people as "Fat, ignorant, and intolerant" is extremely intolerant.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest fan of people from the bible-belt either, but you have to take the time to listen to their opinions and arguments, try to understand them. Try to get them to see things from your point of view too, and if at the end of the day, nobody is convinced of anything new, you have to just agree to disagree.
I think that's what us liberals forget sometimes, everyone's opinions are formed for some reason. Human beings are rational players. If you don't take the time to try to find and understand those reasons, you're not going to change any hearts and minds, which is the whole point of it all in my opinion.

The truth of the NOFX lyrics | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

These lyrics offer the truth about America. Education level is low in America. Uneducated can be easily manipulated by the mass media, controled by the few who are in control of their country. You can serve Americans bullshit about anything except their donuts. Donuts are truly the only thing they understand.
