U2 Mysterious Ways Lyrics

Last updated: 04/13/2011 11:00:00 AM

Johnny take a walk
With your sister the moon
Let her pale light in
To fill up your room
You've been living underground
Eating from a can
You've been running away
From what you don't understand...

She's slipping
You’re sliding down
She'll be there
When you
hit the ground

It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways
It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways

Johnny take a dive
With your sister in the rain
Let her talk about the things
You can't explain
To touch is to heal
To hurt is to steal
If you want to kiss the sky
Better learn how to kneel
On your knees boy

She's the wave
She turns the tide
She sees the man inside the child

It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways
It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways
It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
lift my days, light up my nights

One day you will look... back
And you'll see... where
You were held... how
By this love... while
You could stand there
You could move on this moment
Follow this feeling

It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways
It's all right, it's all right, it's all right
She moves in mysterious ways

Oh love
Oh love, lover
Move you
The spirit moves in mysterious ways
Baby love me
Baby love me
Move you
Baby love me
Move with it
She moves with it

Lift my days, light up my nights

This song is about ancient pagan religion | Reviewer: Nathan | 4/10/11

What drove me to check the lyrics out was the initial title.

Mysterious Ways.
The very chorus "She move in Mysterious Ways" echoes to a common cliche "God Moves in Mysterous Ways" So we are speaking here about something religious but counter to it.

Notice from the outset Johnny take a walk with your sister on the Moon.

Moon is symbolic of the female aspect whilst the Sun is the male aspect. Like the double headed eagle, the triangle pointing up (male pointing down aka combined the hexagram ie: star of david) occult terminology "As Above So Below" which has now become embedded in the Lord's prayer in the Message Translation.
Cresent moon aka Allat the original name of Allah, which was the common deity among the bedouin tibe in arabia during the tie of Mohammad.

Pale light in, ... you room into your soul light allowing the light of God to open your mind.

Living underground aka grave ... thus to come out is to be "born again" the same definition George W Bush has as a Skull and Bones member, not the term Jesus used. As Bono has been quoted "I try to be Born Again everyday."
Hey Bono ... I though Yoda said do or do not there is no try .. anyhow...

She'll be there when you hit the ground (part of dath and burial ritual in Mystery Religions) this is also folowing to possible secual inferences made more clear later on (aka incest)

LOVE - Venus the pentagram which is merely the orbital ratio pattern between the earth and venus round the sun. Venus depicted in Bananarama's film clip isabout Ero's the reek word for sensual sexual love or as Alister Crowley and Anton Lavey state LUST.

She Moves in mysterous ways ... in contrast to the saying God moves in mysterious ways.
She in Revelation 17 is the whore who sits on the beast with a golden cup in her hand. Called Mystery, Babylon the Great ... go search for archeological images from babylon.

Johnny takes a dive with his sister in the rain (incest with the blessing of outpouring of the spirit) AKA Nimrod (the guy who built the tower of Babel, died and became a god)and Semaramis (who skillfully claimed the child she had was from Nimrod after his death and that she was a virgin)(legend had them as brother and sister)which produced Tammuz from a miraculous virgin birth, died at 40 and where the period of LENT comes from in the church.

To touch is to heal aka sexual healing
Kiss the sky "commune with God" learn how to kneel ie: pray.

She's the wave (at this point I know for sure Bono knows what he is talking about) waves in art work are female, the stright line is male. Thus the Jesuit sunburst of wave and stright all around).

To cut this short he ends giving a definition

Oh love, lover
Move you
The spirit moves in mysterious ways, thus "she is "spirit" ie: the spirit of the age.
The Holy Spirit is also called the spirit of Christ because Jesus said about His departure / death resurrection "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you" and is always denoted in Greek and Hebrew as "He". Bono refers to she.

U2 is by far one of my favorite groups. I was so excited to see them in concert...360 tour in Dallas,TX. I was listening to Mysterious Ways this morning on the way to work and the song indeed lifted up my day. U2 knows how to stir my soul to spread positive energy in this world that is so badly needed. I thank them for sharing their words through such awesome music.

thank you u2 | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/8/11

I am sorry to the Catholic person but these lyrics are in no way about "the blessed mother" (except that they may be about what she represents to you). These words are about God. At the very end it actually says "The SPIRIT moves in mysterious ways". The purpose is that the true meaning is to be hidden to those who: are afraid of Him (needlessly), or just don't want to hear about Him right now, or they may think they 'hate' Him because of who they THINK he is and represents or whatever, but be "seen" by those who are looking (or listening) for Him. Have you ever heard "HE moves in mysterious ways" this is THAT phrase hidden so that to those who don't want to hear can just listen to a popular song and enjoy it on that level. This is how Jesus did it many times with parables. "she" replaced "HE" to make it more acceptable to the mainstream by being hidden so that people could listen to it and not scare off or offend those around them. People think they are afraid of their Father but really they are afraid of the way he is constantly misrepresented.

...Do you have ANY basic knowledge of popular music history AT ALL? U2 is one of the best, most original, most influential bands out there. And that's a pretty established fact. I mean, whether you like them or not, all these modern bands PALE in comparison to U2. I believe most critics would agree with me.

And as for the ambiguity of the lyrics, that's actually, believe it or not, a GOOD thing. It's better to challenge your listeners with more cryptic, poetic lyrics than beating them over the head with the meaning of the song.

U2 Is Amazing! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/24/11

Anonymous, perhaps you should be less of an idiot. Why would you even bother of coming onto a site to read lyrics by U2, if you are just going to flame them? U2 is amazing, as far as a lot of people are concerned. Here's two words for you: Fuck. Off.
Have a nice life, oh wait. Nevermind about that one!

It's about Mary | Reviewer: Tw | 1/20/11

The lyrics are applicable in many ways, but at their most basic level they are about the Blessed Mother, how she prays for you, and watches over you with a mother's love, accepting you for who you are, but seeing your true potential.

Great song, great message

what? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/18/11

sorry but these lyrics are ambigous and pointless as far as i'm concerned. I looked this up because I couldn't understand what the song was really about and I still don't..
U2 are totally lame by the way - the 360 tour was a prententious attempt at making boring songs entertaining for a stadium audience
if you know this song word for word you're a loser
