Music Box Lyrics - Thrice

Review The Song (9)

we move for all mankind, a million miles from everything we've ever known
and we're on their hearts and minds, a million heads are bowed to bring us safely home
hemmed in by emptiness, a million ways that everything could be undone
this hollow in my chest is filled with reasons not to sing but I found one, I know

we are not alone, we feel an unseen love
we are sons and heirs of grace
we are children of a light that never dims
a love that never dies, keep your chin up child
and wipe the tears from your eyes

in sleep we saw ourselves, a million years we had been waiting there it seems
while someone weaves a spell, a million stars look on in witness to our dreams, I know

we are not alone, we feel an unseen love
we are sons and heirs of grace
we are children of a light that never dims
a love that never dies, keep your chin up child
and wipe the tears from your eyes

not alone | Reviewer: Wesley | 11/20/10

This song is an encouragement and exhortation to believers. The "one reason he's found" is Christ and he's singing a message of comfort and encouragement to fellow heirs in Christ, that we're not alone (Matthew 28:20). Beautiful. And he's exhorting us that, in light of this fact, in light of God's love for us, we should not fear but "stand ready and tall, and reflect the Light (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)," who is Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Thrice is amazing.

Awesome | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/10/10

I was amazed to hear "Sakura" as the start of this song. The Japanese folk song as an intro totally took me by surprise, but I ended up loving the song! They certainty weaved Sakura in the song brilliantly.

The words are very inspirational too. I ended up singing Sakura with the song...!

Beautifully Tragic Song! | Reviewer: FaerieGlow | 5/7/09

God I love this song! We're studying Russian history in World History class, and this song very much reflects the tragedies of the Romanov family. It has that clearly Russian vibe too which I adore.

Heh | Reviewer: mxw | 2/20/07

It's between Deadbolt and Red Sky, has the power of Deadbolt and the feeling of softness of Red Sky. One of my ultimate favorites of Thrice. Amazing band :)

Thrice at gian | Reviewer: Sweden | 6/9/06

I'd never heard this song before i saw Thrice at the Give it a name festival in London this year and i was scared to death it was pitch black and all you could hear was the music box. The song is brilliant.

This song is one of my all-time favorites and it sort of reminds me of a song you might put in the begining of a horror movie!!
