Mushaboom Lyrics
Performed by FeistReview The Song (55)
Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups
But in the meantime I've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay
Old dirt road
Knee deep snow
Watching the fire as we grow old
I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done
How many acres how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map
Old dirt road
Knee deep snow
Watching the fire as we grow old
Old dirt road
Rambling rose
Watching the fire as we grow well I'm sold

I've known this song for quite a while but never thought to look at the lyrics and never really tried to figure them out. Looking at them now I realize the lyrical and intellectual beauty of the song in addition to the catchy, upbeat melodies :D This just made me fall head over heels for this song
Lovely song. :) | Reviewer: Admaa | 12/3/11
Why say how old you are? It doesn't even matter. I don't see how it can alter what people think about you.
I love this song, I don't know if it's the fact that I myself see this: "It may be years until the day, My dreams will match up with my pay" as something I can relate to, and not seen written in music or at least so boldly.
I'd go on about this but I don't think anyone will read this anyway, lmao.
Tally ho.

I will not tell you my age because in mind that should not matter as long as I effectively convey what I want to say. In regaurds to this lovely song, it brings me such joy. I have newly discovered Feist and am loving every song I come to know that has been written by them. This is by far one of my favorites. It has such an innocence about it. The song says to me "we're trying to figure this out. we're gonna make mistakes, but everything is overall wonderful and I love living this life." It renews my joy of the simple things in life.

I`m eleven and I`ve known this song since I was six and loved it ever since.Just because I`m so young doesn`t mean I`m not mature or have bad taste in music, though.I love feist and eisley and innocence mission.

I'm 126 years old. I like music when i can hear it, which isn't often. I think i like this woman she reminds me of my youth, the good old days. Ah i'm going to stop typing now because my fingers are falling off. Good day.
Just another great song from another great artist | Reviewer: Zoe | 8/22/09
Hahaha
I'm 12. But that says a lot, because not many artists these days can be listened to by a twelve year old and a forty year old and liked by both. This is a great song, the first one I heard by Feist. Afterwards I went on to purchase 'The Reminder' and a Broken Social Scene CD. The store I went to didn't have 'Let it Die' but I'm sure if I go in another one, they'll have it.

Reviewer Kathryn is a tad bitter.....:( | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/2/08
Leslie Feist is a consumate performer as well as a perfect woman. She would rather read than watch TV. To me that speaks volumes. The only negative review in this forum is so laden with personal angst over no Love in her life it is to be pitied really. Mushaboom...Everyones goal no matter what the title. Peace!

I am also 11 and I love Feist's music. she is my favorite singer, and her music has inspired so many things for me. My favorite sang of hers is Mushaboom. She made me want to move to Mushaboom, or at least Canada when I get out of High School in many years.
my favorite | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/26/08
im only eleven and feist is so unique and they're songs are beautiful. its so light AIRED! i am an aspiring singer. mushaboom is the most inspirational song i have ever heard! its not completely about love but has a quarter of it. i feel joyous listening to it! im not like your average eleven year olds. i am very different and hopefully good enough to be a musician!
Feist is my happy place | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/17/08
Im 13 years old, and people may just think im a dumb little kid, but all of Feists songs totally touch me. I want that life sooooo bad. When I'm feeling crappy I listen to it and think about the future. I saw her live at a festival once and it was fabulous. She is really talented!
