Review about Mr. Moustache you make me laugh with your stupidity | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/25/09
"In something in the way, when kurt says it's ok to eat fish cause they don't have any feelings."
"All creatures, regardless of size, feel pain and emotion - it's a FACT. Stop spreading bullshit information, you ignorant little prick."
lol lol these posts are so irrelevant and retarded it makes me laugh to no end. it almost seems pointless to say, but seriously this conversation is a waste of time (and yes i realize its ironic that i'm wasting my time responding to it).
ps. yes all creatures feel pain (as they have pain receptors). however, not all have the ability to process emotions. so its not a fact, O Smart One.
This lyric refers directly to Kurts desire to be a vegetarian, but being unable to commit to a meat free diet.
And to the idiot who said "fish feel no pain", you are a fucking idiot. Idiots like you should be shot. All creatures, regardless of size, feel pain and emotion - it's a FACT. Stop spreading bullshit information, you ignorant little prick.
In something in the way, when kurt says it's ok to eat fish cause they don't have any feelings, i think he was forced to eat fish out of need, as it was the only food available, but as an animal lover he felt guilty for eating fish. So he tried to justify eating fish and comfort himself by saying they don't have any feelings. its like hes making an excuse, and trying to convince himself.
Kurt's lyrics were very deep, deeper than they seem so I don't take the "I eat cow- I am not proub", thing to literal. It's most likely a metaphor for something else he was going through. Oh, and he did say he really didn't care what his lyrics were about, he just needed songs to fill an album. Maybe he wanted people to think that? Who know? It's not as if we can ask him now :\ well all we can do is listen, feel, connect<3 R.I.P kurt<3
Maybe I'm thinking too hard... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/29/08
This song makes me think of Nietzsche. The man had an ungodly moustache, claimed to "question all questions", and in addition to calling women cows his writings often seem excessively misogynistic, racist, and macho.
I don't know if Cobain had that in mind when he wrote the song, but it would make some sense.
Yes I eat cow, it's not that costly. | Reviewer: Cow Muncher | 12/1/08
@ Sarah
I always got the feeling it meant that he was humble enough to eat cow despite the growing number of vegetarians. There's often pride in the attitudes of some vegetarians of how they can manage to stand not eating juicy succulent meat. Despite how the lack of protein often makes some rather stickly of course, even with a good intake of nuts and lentils...
I see it as an ironic statement as the good intentions can manifest themselves as a negative trait later in at times unexpected ways.
Yes, I eat cow - I couldn't really care so long as a cow is slaughtered quickly and doesn't suffer too much at the time.
Also, eating freerange chickens only in large numbers encourages growers of chickens to treat them more humanely!!! Eat chicken and...
Fight the power!!!

no- that's not really sarcasm... fish REALLY feel no pain. that's why in crazy sushi places they can make fried fish that's still gasping for water- if they felt pain they'd be all floppin around and shit.

since when was kurt cobain a hindu? i'm a fan of nirvana and i never hear that before. he also said in an interview that "With Bleach, I didn't give a flying fuck what the lyrics were about" so i doubt that he sang about his beliefs, hindi or otherwise.
the religion that kurt cobain believed in pretty much praises cows, and he wasn't happy with the fact that he became addicted to beef when he was a kid, before he knew what it was actually made of.
as far as the part in something in the way, he's simply saying he didn't want to hurt any other type of animals, because if he is hurting something, it might as well be something that doesn't have feelings..
something in the way gets really a lot deeper than most make it out to be. along with most of kurt's songs..

Im a vegetarian and when Kurt says 'yes, i eat cow-i am not proud' do you think this has anything to do with Kurt wanting to be a vego? I know he was an animal lover and in 'Something In The Way' Kurt says 'its okay to eat fish, cos they dont have any feeling' its obviously sarcasm. Does anyone hav any opinions about this?
