Monarchy Biography

Monarchy are a British synthpop musical duo. They have released music through Neon Gold Records, Mercury Music, and Moda Music.
In November 2009, the band featured as "Band of the Day" on Guardian.co.uk. Monarchy's first single "Gold In The Fire / Black The Colour Of My Heart" was released on Neon Gold Records on 1 February 2010. They have created remixes for Ellie Goulding, Kelis, Lady Gaga,[3] Marina & the Diamonds, Jamiroquai, Kylie, OMD, and Fyfe Dangerfield
Monarchy's debut album, Around the Sun, was released on July 11, 2011. The album was released independently following their departure from Mercury records. The Guardian (UK) said the "lyrics are often arrant nonsense ... but there are many pleasures here", rating it 3/5.[5] NME gave it 5/10, comparing them to Hurts, The Sound of Arrows, and Steps. Popjustice placed it 14th in its list of the best albums of 2011.
