Miss You Love Lyrics - Silverchair

Review The Song (5)

Millionaire say
Got a big shot deal
And thrown it all away but
But I'm not too sure
How I'm supposed to feel
Or what I'm supposed to say
But I'm not, not sure,
Not too sure how it feels
To handle every day
And I miss you love

Make room for the pray
'Cause I'm coming in
With what I wanna say but
It's gonna hurt
And I love the pain
A breeding ground for hate but...

I'm not, not sure,
Not too sure how it feels
To handle everyday
Like the one that just past
In the crowds of all the people

Remember today
I've no respect for you
And I miss you love
And I miss you love

I love the way you love
But I hate the way
I'm supposed to love you back

It's just a fad
Part of the teen, teenage angst brigade and
I'm not, not sure,
Not too sure how it feels
To handle everyday
Like the one that just past
In the crowds of all the people

Remember today
I've no respect for you
And I miss you love
And I miss you love

Remember today
I've no respect for you
And I miss you love
And I miss you love

I love the way you love
But I hate the way
I'm supposed to love you back

a little insight... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/11/09

Personally we have analysed this text, Miss You Love by Silverchair, and we feel that it expresses a frustration for the music industry and the way it mooches all life and love away from performance and the soul of music.
In particular, the line
"Not too sure how it feels
To handle everyday
Like the one that just past
In the crowds of all the people"

How is a child supposed to handle what comes across as almost teenage angst while his life being exposed and thoroughly over come by those wishing to milk a talented young man for money and treat him like a performing monkey.

This song totally juxteposes the idea of inspirational love through music, against the hatred and greed and pain associated with the music industry.

Has the art form of music been totally reduced to a game to access attention, regardless of quality?
The song truly communicates, in MY opinion, frustration and confusion which normally resounds in youth as they are fed what to think, contradicting how they feel. Example: "But I'm not too sure
How I'm supposed to feel
Or what I'm supposed to say"

Bit in plain sight, and maybe we're reading too much into the teenage angst thrust thoroughly through the song.
Is it possible that this song is another cliche response to what the industry has TOLD them to perform, or is it a rebellion against the command of the industry, is it the last straw?
Another example - Love Song by Sarah Bareilles

The song was against the music industry telling her what to write, what to sing, and yet it is/was so successful, and would have brought in alot of profit.

All we can ask is, are we finally at the point where we have lost songs such as this to an overrun industry which produces mainstream crap which none of us like?
Have we lost the soul of music, the love of music?

"I love the way you love
But I hate the way
I'm supposed to love you back."

I listened to this song many times and it has occured to me that maybe the song is not about missing a person loved but missing the feeling of being loved. What I mean is, he was goin through a very difficult time in his life (anorexia) and maybe that is what the song is about: he misses loving himself because the anorexia is not letting him... Or maybe I'm just reading to much into it!

The point of this song is to be "all over the place". It just emphasizes the different emotions emerging from the song. The gentler side is the vulnerability of missing/needing someone & not knowing how to go about it. Then the angrier tone shows how much he hated or how much this significant other person aggrivated him & he has no respect for them & doesn't want to love them. He's also trying to convince himself that it'll past or that it's just a stage he's going through "it's just a fad, part of a teen angst brigade". He's just kind of torn & doesn't know what to do or "how to handle everyday".

I like the lyrics to this song
but I dont like how they sing it.
its all over the place.
they dont have a steady tone.
