Queen Misfire Lyrics

Words and music by John Deacon

Don't you misfire fill me up
With the desire to carry on
Don't you know honey that love's a game
It's always a hit or miss
So take your aim
Got to hold on tight
Shoot me out of sight
Don't you misfire fill me up
With the desire to carry on

Don't you misfire fill me up
With the desire to carry on
Your gun is loaded
And pointing my way
There's only one bullet
So don't delay
Got to time it right
Fire me through the night
Come on take a shot
Fire me higher
Don't you miss this time
Please don't misfire
Misfire

I find this, among the other classic Queen songs, to be eclectic and catchy. The melody flows evenly, and has the certain dips and rises at the end of each verse. As for Brian (May)'s playing, it sounds a tad like the Beatles and very exotic; giving that unique spur. (John) Deacon wrote this song well, because you get what it's about in the first two lines. Freddie (Mercury)'s vocals, as always, are amazing, but I can't help but wonder whether Roger (Taylor) helped with the higher octaves i.e. In The Lap Of The Gods, Somebody To Love, Bohemian Rhapsody etc. I know Freddie's range was capable, but Roger stood in during the high parts because he could do it well.

All in all, amazing, AMAZING piece of Queen history. xo.
