Misery Loves Its Company Lyrics - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Review The Song (20)

Listen close as we wait for a sound to go

It's true, we are
we are destined to fail
It's true, we are
we are destined to fail

There is a problem here with our society
The absence of my tears is my sobriety
I have a growing fear and you're not helping me
Am I the only one who realizes it's true?

Beat but I'm not broken
Guide me through with your hand
Lead with your words spoken
Show me how to listen

You're persecuting me, showing hypocrisy
I have a remedy for your insecurity
It's all the same, sadly, nobody works for free
Am I the only one who realizes it's true

Beat but I'm not broken
Guide me through with your hand
Lead with your words spoken
Show me how to listen

Let your light shine through me
Take this hate I can't release
Help me make the blind see
Misery loves its company

When I dream, I see dawn turn into dusk, into dusk

Beat but I'm not broken
Guide me through with your hand
Lead with your words spoken
Show me how to listen

Let your light shine through me
Take this hate I can't release
Help me make the blind see
Misery loves its company

It's true, we are
we are destined to fail
It's true, we are
we are destined to fail

I think this is a good interpretation of this song. it's about a depressed person who wants company. I am a christian and i don't think this song is religious in any way, but if you think so, that's your opinion.

beat but im not broken | Reviewer: Aiden | 3/7/11

i really love this song im not sure exactly what it means but who cares its an awesome song whether its about religion(i dont think it is but whatever),a break up,or something deeper darker, its a beautiful tragic song and thats all that matters

wow, shut up.. | Reviewer: kat | 1/2/10

this is one of the first songs ronnie wrote, before they became RJA when he was havin some very dark times in his life. he is talking about his depression and how no one is there to help him. then he met his now-wife and she was helping him and he wanted to help others in the same position, but he needed her help.

Meaning of the song | Reviewer: rockdudette89 | 9/19/09

You have to take the song from its title 'misery loves its company'. what he is trying to portray is that if one feels unhappy, then he feels better if you are unhappy too. when he says "you are not helping me" shows the selfishness of people. "i have a remedy for your insecurity" all show that exact expression. if we feel miserable, we expect others to feel sad too in order to console.

uhg shut up! | Reviewer: Haley | 9/7/09

if someone wants to think of it as religios let them!
no one is shoving anything down ur throats you athiest idiots.
your the ones who chose to read the comment.
get over yourself!
everyone is entilted to their opinion & no one is forcing you to agree with it

amazing song | Reviewer: Nic | 8/3/09

I really do believe that rja wanted to convey religion in this song, i mean its pretty obvious.

But if a song is religious should really have no affect on how you feel. I mean im agnostic, but what the song is really about is alot deeper than religion.

Personally, i dont think you need to believe in a religion to see flaws in the world, or be in a religion to try to fix them. No matter what you believe you can decide what you want to do.

About Religion? | Reviewer: Annonymous | 6/26/09

I don't think this song is about religion at all. Just because you're a believer doesn't mean the rest of the world is. Don't fit religion into everything looking for some hidden meaning to life. It feels like your shoving your religion down my throat. I respect you life style and your choice of religion, but please, don't try to fit God into everything. Sorry if that seems mean, maybe it is.
I think the song is about relationships, plain and simple and I like it better that way.

rock fan | Reviewer: Sophia | 5/26/09

this was an amazing song, i liked it almost as much as i liked face down. I dont understand y ppl have to make it all religious.Wars are fought and people die over what they think is right or wrong, so i dont see why everyone is having an argument over what is simply an amazing song,so dont try to find hidden meanings that you wish were there.

John | Reviewer: John | 4/5/09

I really don't like how people try to give meanings to songs, they have no specific reason in my opinion, just reasons that the listener gives them, what it may mean to him or her and nobody but them can name whatever that may be

This is About god | Reviewer: Sam | 4/4/09

If you relate the lyrics to a relationshsip, certain things lack meaning, but when you realte them to a realtionship WITH God, they have perfet meaning! Gide me through with your arm, if we are destined to fail, who can guide us? God, your persecuting me, showing hypocrisy, talking as if he were jesus, then switching back to himself suggestiing he is the only one who realizes the world is about money.

Let your light shine through me, if we ae destined to fail who is the light? Take this hate i cant release, who can soften our hearts and release our hate? if we are destined to fail, who can do it?
