Million Voices Lyrics
Performed by Wyclef JeanReview The Song (50)
Wyclef Jean - Million Voices
African Chorus throughout song:
-----------------------------------
Ni ryari izuba, Rizagaruka, Hejuru yacu,
Ni nd' uzaricyeza ricyeza.
[When will the sun return above us?]
[Who will reveal it once again to us?]
-----------------------------------
Rwanda, Rwanda,
Yeah Rwanda, Rwanda.
They said: "Many are called and few are chosen,"
But I wish some wasn’t chosen
for the blood spilling of Rwanda.
They said: "Meshach, Shadrack and Abednego,
Thrown in the fire but you never get burned,"
but I wish that I didn't get burned in Rwanda.
They said: "The man is judged according to his works,"
so tell me Africa, what’s your worth?
There’s no money, no diamonds, no fortunes
on this planet that can replace Rwanda…
Rwanda Rwanda
Yeah, Rwanda Rwanda
These are the cry of the children
Rwanda Rwanda
Anybody hear my cry?
If America, is the United States of America,
Then why can’t Africa, be the United States of Africa?
And if England, is the United Kingdom,
Then why can’t Africa unite all the kingdoms
and become United Kingdom of Africa?
Rwanda Rwanda, Rwanda Rwanda
Yeah, yeah.
These are the cries of the children, yeah.
Can anybody out there hear our cries?
Yeah, heavens cry ... Jesus cry.
Lord, did you hear us calling you?
Yeah, Rwanda Rwanda,
Lord, did you hear us calling?
Can you do something in Rwanda?
Rwanda Rwanda, Rwanda Rwanda
I’m talkin' 'bout Jesus; talkin' 'bout
Rwanda Rwanda Rwanda
Talkin' 'bout … talk'n 'bout ...
Talkin' 'bout … talk'n 'bout ... talk'n 'bout ...
I wanna play my guitar for Rwanda....

when ll African leaders learn | Reviewer: saint churchill | 5/13/12
those who by whatever means occupy leadership position in africa use such positions to inflict unacceptable injury to the ordinary africans. As an african i m aware that we have refused to learn any lesson from the past. Tnx to wyclef for this masterpiece. And it shall not be well with oppressors and those who promote violence.

Such a beautiful and powerful song- another masterpiece by clef. Let's hope Rwanda never goes through such traumatic and terrible times again and that clef can lift Haiti up from its devastation -Wyclef for president!
A million heartstrings pulled | Reviewer: Christilda | 3/14/10
Although I come from a land far away from Rwanda, the lyrics and melody of the song are so moving that I cannot help but feel for the children and the generation of Rwandans who suffered such a brutal fate. Although I doubt I can do much to alleviate the suffering and pain that so many are going through in this world besides my prayers, I thank God for celebrities like WyClef out there who are using their influence out there to educate an apathetic generation out there about what is happening. Let not the world turn a blind eye again to such suffering (although it is already happening)

I am completely obsessed with African culture. I love it. This song is just fantastic. I can listen to those babies sing for hours. So heartwarming their voices. Listening to it right now as a matter of fact. I just wish to speak the language! As an American, lightly in to politics, I just believe this such and atrocity. We wouldn't intervene for the sheer reason of POWER! We as americans are afraid to help out a country that is helpless because we fear being over run by them at one point. Knock em down, Keep em down. That is more than likely the motto of the white house. This should NEVER happen, not to Jews, not to Africsns, Americans, Chinese. No one. There will never be peace on this earth, but as soon as we all stop trying and let our posessions stand in the way, we will absolutely never acheive it. This is an outrage and I wish to all Africans, and everyone globally really to know that not all Americans are the way of their leaders. Just as we know all the Tutsi's were not rebels. Just because we are given the "right" to vote for our leaders, doesn't mean that the US as a whole ACTUALLY elected the officials. The world is run by greedy, money hungry men and women and they will not do right by the people of the world. We have seen this violent behavior over and over, and yet it still continues. We have to make a stand and make peace amongst ourselves. When everyone can realize this and get the brainwashing and propaganda out of their heads, we might be at peace.

I think the singer Wyclef Jean a spectacular music from the movie hotel rwanda after a very strong message. I know what those people went, because it has already passed by things I heard in the war in Angola in 1992. friends of my father were my house to kill my father, until today I live with this pessadelo, but thank god a cousin of my step from my house and take my father, when armed men came to my house asking where was my father who did not know and they began to fire and left all that at home. I'm afraid of one day living the same story.

rwanda is an example of the impasibility of human race about the pain and horror of other people, here in colombia there is another troubles so big, sad and terribles like rwuanda genocide. and every body in colombia cries, and nobody is able to change the situacion. I admire wyclef jaean and i absolutely adoe this song beacuse is the song of the world injusitice. thanks to wyclef to sing it
Fabulous Wyclef Jean | Reviewer: Obam Alfred | 11/24/08
I always liked Wyclef Jean by his music, as a mere listener could do to an artist who loves. But I thought not as charitable with such fervor in humanitarian work, as he demonstrated in this song. I admit that I am excited because this is just recent that I discovered it on the site Deezer.com searching compilations of Jean. my warmest congratulations, and I am delighted to write this review because I feel to communicate directly with you (and thus achieve my dream of nearly 10 years ago)

No doubt Wyclef has made the movie popular.I heard the song on the internet and decided to go watch the movie and really saw the emotions Mr Jean attached to the song was worth it.As an African I still continue to believe a day will come when Africans will unite, stop killing each other on the basis of ethnic superiority, and be a pride to us.The song touches my heart and movie,I watch over and over again.Indeed,God bless Mr Wyclef Jean
