Faith No More Midlife Crisis Lyrics

Last updated: 04/01/2014 05:59:46 AM

Verse 1:
Go on and wring my neck
Like when a rag gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like lettuce
Go on dig your thumbs in
I cannot stop giving in
I'm thirty-something

Sense of security
Like pockets jingling
Midlife crisis
Suck ingenuity
Down through the family tree

You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

It's a midlife crisis.. It's a midlife crisis..

Verse 2:
What an inheritance
The salt and the kleenex
Morbid self attention
Bending my pinky back
A little discipline
A donor by habit
A little discipline
Rent an opinion

Bridge 2:
Sense of security
Holding blunt instrument
Midlife Crisis
I'm a perfectionist
And perfect is a skinned knee

You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

It's a midlife crisis...
It's a midlife crisis...

You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two
(repeat and fade)

J'ADORE Faith No More!!! | Reviewer: Sara | 4/1/14

Loki Mischief | 2/7/13 - sorry but the lyrics you refer to are actually in Land of Sunshine not Midlife Crisis.

Faith No More have been the soundtrack to my life since I was 17 and I'm now 40. I feel so privileged that they have yet again announced a new date - Hyde Park, London 4 July 2014 - and that 23 years after I first heard them on a "Now that's what I call music" cassette tape (!!!) I can see them live all over again. I have seen them live numerous times over the years and have never EVER been disappointed by any of their shows! :D

missing subtext in the song | Reviewer: Loki Mischief | 2/7/13

between verse 1 and 3, theres a filler which says as if announced

"Does emotional music have quite an effect on you"
Do you feel sometimes like it's against you
I, I can help, I can help you, help yourself

Great memories about this song | Reviewer: subsonikk | 8/20/09

This was a new song when I was 18, and now 17 years later having just turned 35 a few days hits me harder and has become my anthem of sorts. "Midlife Crisis" was on one of the first 4 CDs I ever bought, so the whole album was awesome for me. I've been re-discovering my love for Faith No More this past week. Awesome 90s band, they're having a reunion tour so catch 'em if you get the chance.

Good morning. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.
I am from Kiribati and learning to write in English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "I have a qeustion, how long are you drawing? Ow to draw? More like just speed drawing, but still nice pic."

Best regards :-D, Kali.

it rocks! | Reviewer: | 8/18/08

I heard that song first in a strip song in San Diego back in 92 or 93. It was simply awesome!

So now, whenever I hear it again.... it remind me of those rounds cheeks moving in front of me.....uahhhh!

man its too good! | Reviewer: Dushyant | 5/29/08

The first hard rock song I ever liked is Midlife Crisis. Lyrics bring out the very true feelings of midlife, although I'm still far from mine. :-) Excellent lyrics, excellent guitar, excellent voice. Overall an Excellent composition. =C

Amazing | Reviewer: Kyo666 | 2/4/08

I absolutely adore this song, just as about everything else Mike Patton does! Whenever he's involved in a project, you just know it can't be bad. My favourite band of his still is and always will be Mr. Bungle, and I'll never give up hoping for a revival. Though I always feel like I'm the only girl listening to this sort of stuff ;p

Fantastic | Reviewer: dollar | 8/5/07

This is actually the best song I have ever heard in my life, though it is so complicated but also it is still the king of all songs in the world

not bad | Reviewer: chris | 7/8/07

this is not a bad song. although not set out like any run-of-the-mill songs (e.g. 1st verse, chorus, 2nd verse, chorus, end) but that's why i really like it. someone asked me who my fav. band is, i answered Metallica, Motörhead and Faith No More. :-)

This song is good | Reviewer: Jason | 6/21/07

You should also check out something he did before FNM. He was the lead for Mr. Bungle. You want something out there, check that out. I also saw his protege's when i went to see Tool, Meshuggah.
