Um... sorry, but | Reviewer: ~DITD~ | 5/2/11
almost ALL of the other albums are better.
Metallica is one of my favorite bands (I grew up listening to what a lot of people call The Black Album), but I don't go to the "everthing they do is instantly awesome" point. I like some of the songs off this album, but others just don't do it for me.
metallica forever! | Reviewer: Paula Mendez | 1/1/11
I will admit, when I first listened to this album five years ago, I couldn't stand it. But also then I was just getting more into Heavy Metal. After listening to it again yesterday, I have to say that even though these songs are not as top notch as their other ones, you still have to give them credit for it. It was after reading the book Metallica: This Monster Lives by Joe Berlinger and Greg Milner that I understood why the album turned out the way it did. St. Anger is one of those albums that you have to be in a pretty pissed off mood in order to listen to it. Simply listening to these songs, you'll understand why.
WOW! | Reviewer: ryan allely | 3/2/08
metallica rocks! this is way better than their older stuff but i agree him you have to be in a pretty bad mood but i don't care i listen to it eveyday the top songs on this album are some kind of monster, invisible kid,my world, sweet amber, dirty window and ST. ANGER
metallica the brave | Reviewer: dermot sweeney | 6/15/07
St.Anger may just be the most uncommercial thing Metallica ever did.It may not have their greatest songs on it but you have to admire its sheer force of will and lack of compromise. This is not an album to goof around to,you have to be in a very particular(bad)mood to listen to it.Its' brutality leaves you drained and while it could have been cut short a little how many other bands 10th album caused such controversy? Who needs yet another AC/DC retread? Ditto Def Leppard?
