I see angels and devels and god when you come on, hold on. " i can understand this line more than any.

but songs in general take on new meanings to each individual, for me this song is beautiful not tragic. I relate it to a long distance relationship also, even if it's not.

My friend feels strongly for this song. She identifies it with what she is going through and this song isn't looking for a certain emotion. This song is looking for any emotion other than numbness. It's looking for something to feel. You feel a car crash, you feel that your falling. It's meaning is to look for a release to get away from the awful numbness that the person could be feeling. I agree with second comment. I am in a long distance relationship currently, and last summer before our relationship started we thought it wouldn't work because we live an hour and a half away, and neither of us are old enough to drive. and that night when we decided to attempt to move on, i declared this our song. and we have now been dating for 7 and a half months, and see each other every 2 weeks. :)

I believe everyones interpretations on this song. Its beautiful, but in a wedding I wouldn't use it because like others have said before, everyone interprets it different and I think that was matts intentions. My take is, when someone is in their wedding dress, they're PERFECt, and everything should be perfect.but he keeps running away from everything. The jealousy of the moon could mean- he's jealous that the moon is in control and he's not. He wants to be someone else, but he wants to thicken his skin. One moment he wants to be someone else, and the next minute he's telling himself he needs to stick thru it all. All and all I think its a struggle he's going thru. The wedding, or wedding dress, symbolizes perfection. And forever is his battle. Loves!

This is one of those songs that you listen to when your sad or broken hearted. I listen to this song all the time and although it makes me sad while listening to it, it makes me feel a little better about the situation i am in after i have listened to it. I don't think he is actually talking about a car crash but it is hypothetical and he is talking about an instance that happened in his life.

So, I'm writing a book called "Quinn", I've been looking for songs to help inspire me for a certain scene.. The scene is that the title character, Quinn Grayson is 19 years old and she is married to a man who she's loved for eight years... and she is going to die from Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia... so when I heard this song, I chose to put myself in the shoes of Frankie, Quinn's husband and see how he felt.. so my interpretation, from Frankie's point of view is: while lying with her on her deathbed, he just wants to go back to the night they got married to try and remember how he thought they would last forever and he never thought forever could end so soon... and also it kind of digs into the loss that he's not prepared to suffer because he still just wants to hold her in her wedding dress when he was so naive to think that forever was a long long time.. does that make any sense at all..???
