This New York, USA-based quartet originally featured Chris
Goss (vocals, guitar), Tim Harrington (guitar), Googe
(bass) and Vinnie Indrizzo (drums). Deriving their name
from the title of Black Sabbath's third album, they fused a
diverse array of rock styles into a form that clearly
invoked names such as the Doors, Vanilla Fudge , Love and
Deep Purple. The group formed as early as 1980, after which
they embarked on a long-haul club touring policy that
eventually brought them serious attention. With the aid of
producer Rick Rubin, who signed them originally to his Def
Jam Records enterprise before it became Def American, they
distilled their influences into a potent and powerful sound
that had its roots in the 70s but was delivered with the
technology of the present More...

    Review about Masters of Reality

who wrote this bio??! Do they even know the band? | Reviewer: Jeff
------ Review about artist/band Masters of Reality

Okay... first, the ORIGNINAL drummer was a linn drum machine. The first REAL (and only REAL drummer in my opinion.) was Vinny Ludovico. Indruzzio?? where the hell did they get that name from? Vinny would've kicked the crap outta them for that.

Saw their album release party for 'the blue garden' in Syracuse at a small club that opened specifically for that purpose... then closed for six months. WONDERFUL show! Even had a cheap tye-dyed "Masters Of Reality" t-shirt that they gave to the first 100 people. Loud, professional... Heavy.

Of course, I might be a bit biased... spent a few years listening to everything Tim Harrington ever recorded in the studio (Eastwind Recording, gone now.), he was my guitar idol... even though he tended to pick on me all the time.

After throwing a hissy fit on tour (Chicago, I believe), Chris Goss essentially quit the band and moved to LA... dragging Googe behind him. He re-formed the band with a Tim Harrington sound-alike and Cream drummer Ginger Baker... who was OLD at the time, Ginger shoulda stayed playing experimental jazz... Ginger looked about 96 years old when they next came to Syracuse. And what was with the two bass drums? Did he think he was Tommy Lee??

Tim wound up back in NY and formed 'The Bogeymen', releasing their album "there's no such thing as..." two years later. The record label went under soon after its release, you might still find it on Ebay (GREAT album!). That band consisted of Tim Harrington (guitar/vocals, Vinny Ludovico (drums), Greg 'Creamo' Liss (bass) and George Rossi (keys/vocals). Wish I would've snagged a copy of the SECOND Bogeymen album... it actually was recorded, never mixed as far as I know. What a loss.

Tim is still recording. He released two albums 'Master Frequency and His Deepness' (1996) and 'Shinola' (1996). Since then has returned to heavier stripped down punk/psychodelic strangness with his current band CREEPJOINT

Definitely a band worth listening to... you can buy the album(s) at www.creepjoint.com

Send an email, tell him he really should re-cut 'Buyer Beware' for CREEPJOINT... I STILL have that song going through my head.

...and tell him Ernie sent ya!
