Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir) :
Aspirat primo Fortuna labori
Me duce tutus eris
Vox populi vox Dei
Ad majorem Dei gloriam...
Ad infinitum
(Translation:
Fortune Smiles Upon Your Effort.
Under my leadership you will be safe.
The voice of the people is the voice of God.
For the greater glory of God.
For Infinity.)
Kahn:
You know just who I am
Don't be so distant
'cause When you're lost
I am solely there to share your grief
Khan:
Wailing your sorrow
is only my way to comfort you
Shagrath:
Reminders of innocent youth
Khan:
Waiting for morrow you're lonely
I name your solitude
Khan and Shagrath:
I speaketh the truth
Khan:
Now tell me all about your pain
Down to the detail
Don't say it's love
Your fragile heart feeds my contempt
Khan:
Wailing your sorrow
is only my way to comfort you
Shagrath:
Reminders of innocent youth
Khan:
Waiting for morrow you're lonely
I name your solitude
Khan and Shagrath:
I speaketh the truth
Khan:
Chase the heathen call
We belong...you and I
Unison in all you deny
Khan:
Wailing your sorrow
is only my way to comfort you
Shagrath:
Reminders of innocent youth
Khan:
Waiting for morrow you're lonely
I name your solitude
Khan and Shagrath:
I speaketh the truth
Khan:
I am the thorn in your side
That seeks accomplishment
Shagrath:
Reminding the mortal of death
Khan:
I am the spore of your pride
An angel heavensent
Khan and Shagrath:
The master of all
I am the urge of the flesh

Review about March Of Mephisto missunderstod | Reviewer: mort | 9/12/09
this album is a concept album from the Legend of faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
what the song is about: (from wikipedia)
"In Ariel's moment of weakness, Mephisto's hold on the alchemist's will is at its highest point. He finds Marguerite, a beautiful girl in the Town. She looks and sounds like Helena. In an attempt to console Ariel, Mephisto delivers her to him, paving the way for her seduction. His control and power over Ariel are represented musically by harsh bass lines and death grunts. He convinces Ariel to follow through with this course of action. Thus, as Ariel seduces Marguerite's body, Mephisto seduces Ariel's mind."
so primarly, this song is just a part of faust life, not about satan. (even if hes refrenched in the song)
SATAN IS SO KEWL!1!!!@~! THIS SONG IS TOTALLY ABOUT HIM. LIKE, OMGGGGGGGGGG!!!!
Jk. This is a good song. Even if it is somewhat satanic or some shit. But guess what? To get the most out of music, you shouldn't look for the actual meanings of songs. I never do. It doesn't matter. You get what you look for, you know? Just try and relate with it, and music will be a lot nicer for all of you people who have to try and find the writer's meaning.

Mephistopheles himself, however, is a demon, the one who bough the soul of the astronomer and necromancer Faust. He isn't Gods most trusted angel, as he followed satan in the revoult of angels. Before then, Satan was gods most trusted. Now, St. Micheal is. I am not Satanic, I am protestant, and just wanted to make this correction.

In my opinion, this is a very captivating song. I personally like songs with a story to it, and I listen to lyrics closely and I like songs with lyrics that actually have meaning. My sister listens to screamo music, which has no substance at all except for horrible singers shouting at full volume into her ear, and when I first heard this song I immediatly liked it. I don't think this is satanic in the least, it's pretty poetic and at least it has worthwhile lyrics to listen to. Kamelot has become one of my favorites.
fuck you fuck satan | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/31/09
lol your worst then him after saying all you can say, which is shit lol.
i'm not satanic nor christian, i don't believe on anything... or well.. i do believe the one who should be sucking cocks is you (if you arn't yet).
Anyway, about the song, love it, can't stop listening xD
Latin Translation... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/9/09
There is a little mistake in the translation of the Latin " Aspirat primo Fortuna Labori" The correct translation is:
"Fortune smiles upon our first effort". It's a famous quote of Virgil. :) Just to make something out of details... :D
Love the song! :D
Awesome Song | Reviewer: Seth | 9/6/08
Wonderful song. Shagrath's growls contrast quite nicely with Roy's... erm... awesome. Still hate Dimmu Borgir, though it's fitting with the whole Faust thing. And, um, "F*** SATAN", the song itself (and Kamelot) aren't Satanic, and I'm a Christian, but there's such a thing as too much zeal.
It's not satanic... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/31/08
If anyone actually bothered to look up Kamelot and what the actual CDs were about, you'd know that Khan plays a young Alchemist, Ariel, who get's caught up in a deal with God's most loyal angel, Mephisto (who refused to praise humanity, claiming that God was the only one he could praise.
Mephisto seduces Ariel's mind while Marguerite (the girl in white) is seduced by Ariel's body. It's an entire two cd story about Ariel. You guys need to actualy bother with looking this stuff up.
ok i know this is like one of the greatest songs of all f***ing time but just let me say this: SATAN IS A GAY FAG THAT NEEDS TO SUCK A C*** AND CHOKE ON IT (which is why i hate dimmu borgir satanic d*****bags). and i agree that shagraths makeup isnt as scary as he thinks it is but MIMES CAN BE VERY CREEPY THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Sad | Reviewer: balls | 7/14/08
I agree that this is indeed a good song, and I further agree that Shagrath's backing vocals compliment(in contradiction)Khan's vocals. The song is catchy and I've had it stuck in my head for a few days now... but the song loses credence when you actually take time to look up the lyrics and read them.
In one line he refers to the "heathen call", then refers to himself as "an angel heaven sent", and finally "I am the urge of the flesh"...
Sounds to me like he's having a multiple personality mid-life crisis.
I'm not sure if this song was meant to be "evil", but if it was; it fails horribly... do some research before you start spitting out lyrics that make you sound like an idiot.
Oh, and someone needs to tell Shaggy that the white and black makeup went out of style in the 80's... come on... he's about as scary as a mime.
