    Review about Lyle Lovett

    Very Smart | Reviewer: Kurt
------ About the song If I Had a Boat performed by Lyle Lovett

Most people do not like Lyle. Those people usually take life too seriously. This is a very observant man. If not observant, he has a wry wit and a grand sense of humor.
On the fringe of Country Music perhaps, but a wise man none the less.
I saw him perform at ACL and I was struck by the evening. a Great performance.Ah

One of the Best in the Genre | Reviewer: ralph
------ About the song Ballad of The Snow Leopard and The Tanqueray Cowboy performed by Lyle Lovett

The quintessential existential cowboy song, popular in the late 1970's in the alternative country/folk movement. Written by David Rodriguez a Texan now living in Holland. This and "Tucumsa Valley" and " Poncho & Lefty" by Townes van Zandt are the epitome of the philosophical urban cowboy. One of the best ever written.

Rave reviews for me | Reviewer: Stan
------ About the song If I Had a Boat performed by Lyle Lovett

I caught him twice at Red Rocks, and was thouroughly amazed both times. First time he was with Bonnie Raitt, and that was a fantastic show.
Can't say enough about his lyrics and music, and a hell of a showman too, even on crutches from his tangle with the bull!
