Lydia, when forming in 2003, set their creativity forth to
a path of artistic independence away from any comparisons
to bands in their genre. By combining traditional rock with
dream-like harmonies and reflective choruses, the band
gradually adopted a reputation as a group of young
musicians destined to break through to the mainstream.
But it’s their veteran level of dedication that allowed
them to first become noticed in the summer of 2004.
The band won a nationwide talent search hosted by Atticus
Clothing, for a slot on the Atticus- Dragging The Lake 3
(Side One Dummy) compilation. The album features artists
such as Fal More...

------ About the song Always Move Fast performed by Lydia
just using common sense here, but only the members of lydia will know what that song means. i am guessing that the girl singing is having a horrible relationship with her dad... hence why she says "it's far too much for me far too fast of scenery, but your voice"
and they are going thru a hard time in their relationship hence "just remember always move fast"
i think leighton is singing to his girlfriend... i like it's in your blood alot better but this song is beautiful....

------ About the song Always Move Fast performed by Lydia
the song has alot of imagery and metaphors in it. a daughter and a father was in car and got into a car accident. only the daughter died and fatehr survived. Im assuming the father was driving. She is watching the scene as a dead person and it is too much for her to handle, and the father watching it alive agrees as well. And he cannot get over her death and when she says, "Thanks for your time, tonight. But you were not awake" actually means the opposite as in you are not dead yet. She whispers at first that everything is alright but when the father is really devasted and can't move on, she screams, hoping he can hear her saying "always move fast" meaning move on with your life and don't stop.

------ About the song Always Move Fast performed by Lydia
hey there, i read over these lyrics, yes, they are confusing until you look into them.
the crash- by the sounds of it, someone they both know has been killed. "ive seen your sadness grow" id say the person that has written this, has deticated it to someone that has died, the female has taken this harshly, and has gone to someone for help. she is worried what the morning will bring,
"I've seen your sadness grow.
and it swallows these days until it hurts to breathe." the girl has taken it quite badly, and has ovbiously gone to someone for help.
"The girl, this house, the highway, your mind made it real." theyre trying to help her "get over" it. she needs comforting, and love. which is what theyve previded. the "always move fast" part, i still dont understand.
hope this helps.

------ About the song Always Move Fast performed by Lydia
okay so to me this song is explaning that your mind makes up things. like in the beginning it talks about a car crash and a girl tells her father she doesnt want to see the crash and the dad says the same and it just takes you through a dream from this guy and in the end it says "She whispers, thanks for your time tonight, but you are not awake yet you are not awake I swear. She screams, it's all been in your dream with nothing tangible. The girl, this house, the highway, your mind made it real. Just remember always move fast." i dont know, thats just how i see it. really just listen to it and read the lyrics and itll click.

------ About artist/band Lydia
INTRO: : Hourzero Records describe Lydia’s- this December, its one more than I’m free, as a haunting collection of shifting moods and poetry accompanied by music that is often regarded as refreshingly eloquent.
PREVIEW: Listeners are always surprised to find out that the musicians behind such a mature and complex sound were merely 18 year old kids when they produce this album—
With their ability to synthesizing male and female vocal harmonies with an intricate blend of instruments, Lydia has produced an album that has redefine Indie rock.
MAIN POINT 1:
Who: LYDIA – currently a 4 piece Indie band composed of
Leighton Antelman – guitar/vocals
Steve McGraw – guitar/organ
Loren Brinton – drums
Evan Aranbul – bass
Mindy White – keyboard/vocals (Left the band last November for personal reasons but has joined current summer tour with Lydia)
*Maria Sais De Sicilia* – keyboards/vocals (former member— departed after the album was released)
What: Debut full length CD – This December, It’s One More and I’m Free
Where: Recorded and Produced in Gilbert, Arizona
When: Released on September 27th, 2005 with Hourzero Records
Why: Formed in 2003 by five high school friends, Lydia wanted to make dent in the local scene with their poetic and tender take on Indie rock. After winning the nationwide talent search by Atticus Clothing in the summer of 2004, they were provided with a slot on the "Dragging The Lake: Volume 3" compilation and started touring for 2 and half months to promote their EP, Afterwards, Lydia embarked on making an amazing album and spreading their music.
MAIN POINT 2 :
CD FIRST IMPRESSION: When I first got Lydia’s Cd, This December; it’s One More and I’m Free via ups, the album art was the very first thing that caught my attention. I remember staring at the album art for like 5 minutes, even thought it not the most artistic thing to look it – I had feeling that this CD would very mellow and engaging. Just like the outer artwork on the album, the contents on the disc are beautiful. It is filled with moving, yet brooding music and lyrics that are at sometimes depressing but give a vivid imagery as to what is going on in each song.
PREVIEW: And after listening to the Cd I realized that by far this is one of the most impressive CD I ever listened to. Not only was I able to listen to every track without skipping, the ambient sound of music is very multidimensional and incredibly expressive with a great medley sounds that really can change atmosphere of your mood.
SOUND/VOCALS: Leighton and Maria cleverly work off one another vocally, layering beautifully written lyrics with an amazing blend of instruments.
Both Leighton and Maria ability to personalize their music can be apparent in songs such as “Always move fast” and “her and Haley”— which perfectly combine the soft sounds of the acoustic guitar and keyboard atop of amazingly gorgeous lyrics.
Everything on the album seems to be played with passion, and it’s not just the vocals that do the trick. It’s something you can hear and feel with every instrument— from the gentle strumming of the guitar to the dynamic drumming beats, it feels like you are listening to a symphony. Tracks like “Its in your blood” and “December” demonstrate this the best.
Songs like A “Story For Supper", which runs for nearly 8 minutes, shows Leighton's impressive range of emotional of vocals. The band perfects on blending all their strengths in their music, there isn’t one member who is singled out, every instrument is audible and clearly contributing to the
REVIEW: Every time I listen to this album I feel like I am drifting along with a book, each song is a like new chapter—each hidden with stories that overflow with ambience.
CONCLUSION: While the songs range wildly from four to ten minutes in length, there is never a dull or repetitious moment. This album is a beautifully crafted work of art, executed flawlessly by one of the most talented young bands on the music scene today.
Lydia exposes it's listeners with so much pure emotion that it is stunning. I highly recommend this album and I truly believe that no one will walk without feeling inspir
