Lurker Lyrics - Genesis

Review The Song (1)

Meanwhile lurking by a stone in the mud
Two eyes looked to see what I was and
Then something spoke and this is what
It said to me.......

Clothes of brass and hair of brown
Seldom need to breathe
Don't need no wings to fly
Ooh and a heart of stone
And a fear of fire and water
Who am I?

Clothes of brass and hair of brown
Seldom need to breathe
Don't need no wings to fly
And a heart of stone
And a fear of fire and water
Who am I?

This song is simply awesome! first, from a musical standpoint, it's solid, popping and climactic. It really rounds off Dodo perfectly. Lyrically, it's beautifully written and tells a story that excites the imagination and really just makes you close your eyes and picture it in your head. When I first heard it, I coulden't quite get it. Through the first half dozen times listening, I realized it offered a third person view of the dodo that adored it. Through most of it's existance, I was a great fan since I was a teen. They had always been, in my eyes, the best band in history.
