Low Man's Lyric Lyrics
Performed by MetallicaReview The Song (38)
My eyes seek reality
My fingers seek my veins
There's a dog at your back step
He must come in from the rain
I fall cause I let go
The let me low has right of way
So my eyes seek reality
And my fingers seek my veins
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bear to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you
Of what is done and to do
Maybe you'll understand
And won't cry for this man
cause low man is due
Please forgive me
My eyes seek reality
My fingers feel for faith
Touch clean with a dirty hand
I touch the clean to the waste
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bear to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you
Of what is done and to do
Maybe you'll understand
and won't cry for this man
cause low man is due
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
So low the sky is all I see
All I want from you is forgive me
So you bring this poor dog in from the rain
Though he just wants right back out again
And I cry, to the alleyway
Confess all to the rain
But I lie, lie straight to the mirror
The one I've broken, to match my face
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bear to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you
Of what is done and to do
Maybe you'll understand
And won't cry for this man
cause low man is due
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
So low the sky is all I see
All I want from you is forgive me
So you bring this poor dog in from the rain
Though he just wants right back out again
My eyes seek reality
My fingers seek my veins

Well , I see here a lot of long comments and I feel a little emmbarressed , because I'm sure that my comment wiil be shorter :))
I'm 13 and I f*ckin' love Metallica. All their songs are awesome. I love especially Loverman and The unforgiven 2 and Low man's lyric ... When I listen to their music I simply lose my mind. I listen with my heart. Metallica is awesome !
The Truth | Reviewer: St. Re-Anger | 12/22/11
This song is fucking amazing. I'm 31. I started listening to Metallica when the Black Album came out when I was 11 and I was hooked and they instantly became my all-time heroes! I then bought all their other albums not to far afterwards. I can play and sing almost all their songs by heart. I was in high school when Load and Re-load came out. I knew from then that they would more than likely be my favorite Metallica albums due to the fact that although they were not as fast and heavy as all their other ones, the lyrical content and sheer dynamics of these 2 records are unparalleled. James really searched deep within his soul to express himself and musically this whole 2-album span was incredible. When St. Anger finally came out I was in Iraq and I hated it. It has taken me very long years of heart break for me to finally give Death Magnetic a chance 3 years after it's release. It is fucking awesome... ALL OF IT! But I can honestly say that Load and Reload are still my 2 favorite Metallica albums of all times. They are some of the most incredibly talented musicians ever.
Metallica getting worse? | Reviewer: Polkij | 7/12/11
For all of those people who are declaring that 'tallica got crap after Puppets/Black etc, have you listened to Death Magnetic? It remains one of the greatest albums released for quite a long time and shows how they can still play like they did at the start, whilst adding in everything they have learned over a 30 year period. Stop bitchin' they will probably always be better then anyone here and they have helped to inspire generations of new musicians. Only when you have achieved the same thing should you be able to criticise someone elses genius.
great song! | Reviewer: mem | 6/24/11
What a great song! And anyone who classifies Justice as a 'classic' shows they know nothing!!! the worst recorded album in history for a main act, even the writer of most of Justice hates it!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 minutes of each song was cool the rest of it was garbage! and repetitive! like ST. Anger but people dont like to mention it.
Grow up. | Reviewer: Adam S. | 6/11/11
People who say, Metallica went shit or pussy when the released the Black album clearly don't have a good vision for what meanings are hidden behind their words. As Metallica aged, their CD's and albums increased in maturity, and what I mean by that is they've gone from making songs that focused on less important aspects of life to making songs and slowly transforming into making greater meaning put into the lyrics of their songs. This is coming from a 15 year old, so get your shit straight and stop being so closed minded.

"Man up you depressed pussies"
"Nobody loves me boo hoo hoo"
"I gave up on Metallica for good when they released the shitty black album"
How fantastic it is to learn about what is "right" and "wrong" Metallica from such a true fan with such a profound understanding of all Metallicas works. Especially when I listen to "Fade to Black" from Ride the Lightning, I enjoy how it's not at all depressed and so wonderfully free from feelings of despair and loneliness - A true inspiration for "manning up".
Metallica rules - all the way
Take what you like and enjoy that. Leave the rest.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! | Reviewer: Rowan | 5/19/11
Look, I think that on some level everyone can relate to this song. Everyone should be able to acknowledge their feelings and songs like this help me when I feel lonely because I feel like James Hetfield can relate to me. Posting negative things about a song is not necessary. The artists in Metallica are musicians, and music is their form of art. It is completely unfair for anyone to scrutinize someone else's creation. Also, though people like our downer 'Anonymous' thinks that people should get over themselves, they are probably more miserable than the people who can relate to this song. And just because they changed after the black album came out doesn't mean that they are bad people. A true fan knows how to grow with and support their favorite band, so learn how to be nice people. I think that this song is beautiful and I wish that they did more songs like this. Have a nice day.
Shut up everone who says this sucks | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/25/11
This song may be different from songs like puppets and justice, but even though its slow its experimental. I personally have every album by metallica. Although reload is a little different its still a great album and this is a GREAT song
Ball sucking pansy song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/23/11
Just heard this song for the first time today since I gave up on Metallica for good when they released the shitty black album. They haven't had a good album since Master of Puppets. Was listening to XM and they were playing a bunch of old Metallica and then they follow up with this crap. Anyone that "relates" to this song deserves to be kicked like the fucking stray dog they are. Man up you depressed pussies! Good lord what a bunch of bitches Metallica fans are. I bet you panty wastes love Portishead's Sour Times as well. Nobody loves me boo hoo hoo.

I always loved metallica ... i loved all their albums upto S&M ... after that ... its bulls**t
i classify this song as one of the best songs ever played by them .... i hear it every morning while i m going to work :)
metallica took a nice step out of their traditions on load and reload ... but the issue is that they couldn't manage to goback again to their masterpieces of ... and justice for all & master of puppets
I relate to this differently | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/11/10
Although this song is about a man with an addiction. I relate to it somehow, maybe in matters of love. And by this, I mean, when I hear this song, I think of Christina. And what she meant to me, how she tried to show me the way, save me from my troubling household, my issues, and in a way, that dog, wanting to go back out again, that's my pride, my stubbroness, my unwillingness to except a helping hand from somebody that loves me. So eventhough she took me in from out of the rain, out of foolish pride, I lost her, and I went right back out again. And I just want her to forgive me. And I can't stand who I see in the mirror everyday, so when I hear James sing that line out, I fight back every single ounce of my tears. I can't do it. My eyes do seek reality, the reality that she's gone forever, and I must move on. My fingers seek my veins, so I can feel something again that I've lost...
METAALICA LIVES THROUGH ME. | Reviewer: Nitin krishna | 7/3/10

Metallica's Post Black Album Music | Reviewer: Blake | 6/15/10
Fuck anyone who says that the albums after the black album sucked, if you say that, your not a true fucking metallica fan. Metallica are artists man, not fucking sellouts, james gets up there and sings his heart out, every song they do ties into real life somehow, and the shit that's on load and reload and anger especially, it just has deep meaning man. deep meaning. if you people would get your head out of your ass and hear it, you'd see that remaking kill 'em all sixty times over gets old, these guys just reinvent them selves over and over and its great. They help me every day, and their songs are an inspiration, and if you've ever heard anything post black album, you'd know damm well that these mother fuckers are still the hardest rocking mothers around. NO ONE beats metallica. METALLICA FOR LIFE.
