Love Song For A Vampire Lyrics - Annie Lennox
Review The Song (21)
Come into these arms again
And lay your body down
The rhythm of this trembling heart
Is beating like a drum
It beats for you - It bleeds for you
It knows not how it sounds
For it is the drum of drums
It is the song of songs...
Once I had the rarest rose
That ever deigned to bloom.
Cruel winter chilled the bud
And stole my flower too soon.
Oh loneliness - oh hopelessness
To search the ends of time
For there is in all the world
No greater love than mine.
Love, oh love, oh love...
Still falls the rain... (still falls the rain)
Love, oh love, oh, love...
Still falls the night...
Love, oh love, oh love...
Be mine forever.... (be mine forever)
Love, oh love, oh love....
Let me be the only one
To keep you from the cold
Now the floor of heaven's lain
With stars of brightest gold
They shine for you - they shine for you
They burn for all to see
Come into these arms again
And set this spirit free

So very beautiful. | Reviewer: Bill | 6/8/12
I heard Love Song for a Vampire first nearly 20 years ago. I loved it then, and I still love it now.
Timeless and beautiful, that even something so persecuted and despised, regarded as evil even, can love so deeply.
love song beyond extraordinary. | Reviewer: monika | 9/2/11

Perfection | Reviewer: Brandon | 11/2/10
Annie Lennox has always sung beautiful songs, but when I heard this song when it was released I was amazed. I haven't felt the same about any other song since she sang "Into the West" for the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King movie.
It is the song of songs | Reviewer: Fabio | 8/14/10
When I saw the movie Dracula I did not realize about this song, but time passed and the I found this for fortune, since this day every time I hear this song I feel something I cant describe something like a bodyshaing. The best is most of people I Know dont like this song or even know it, so it makes it more special.
One of the very best from Annie... | Reviewer: Divya | 3/16/10
I, not only, listen to this song, but also, watch the music video of 'Love Song for a Vampire' about five times a day. Everything is so beautiful. The song was written for the unending love between Dracula and Mina, even in the afterlife. Watching the music video of this song, makes the song even more beautiful. All the emotions conveyed by the lyrics are beautifully depicted in the video. To top it all, there is a lovely waltz between Dracula and Mina, towards the end of the video. Simply stunning!!
i have always loved this song | Reviewer: love song | 3/1/10
a lot of people dont like it (their loss) they associate it with the movie in a negative way, the lyrics are beautiful, haunting, i find this song so personal even though it has nothing to do with me.
this song, "dont cry" (alternate lyrics only) and "how it ends" are my favorites of all time.

Haunting... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/21/09
I thought I was going crazy. None of the people I know like this song.
It's comforting to know other people in the world understand...
There's nothing new I can say about it. The power of the melody
and the lyrics has been described in the other reviews.
Just want to say that for me, it is the best love song ever written.
A saga of love and longing..... | Reviewer: Ishani | 11/5/08
The melody is haunting... The lyrics and soulful rendition makes you feel a lump in your throat. The emotions in this song rip the heart apart with feelings of the pain of lost love and eternal longing for a beloved. Absolutely unearthly creation!!
Love Song.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/20/08
What can I say about this song that other's haven't already said. And yet I have to comment. It's such a beautifully touching SAD song because you can feel the pain of love torn away. It makes me want to cry every time I hear it too, like the "Learn to be Lonely" from the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack. I love that will never be. Annie Lennox has always produced beautiful music.
Inmortal love..? | Reviewer: Bastet | 8/30/08
I agree, I have experienced that myself, like the rare rose she mentions I found that love I had longed for all my life and insanity took it away from me, this can really happen and then just a realm like those of vampires could help you try to explain that feeling of loving someone for eternity...this song captures that sensantion with its beautiful music, breath taking lyrics and her exceptional voice.
beautifully tragic. | Reviewer: Sophie | 10/25/07
I know this is supposed to be a positive love song, but it just makes me cry every time I hear it. To have that kind of love, so powerful and deep, for another person is so rare. And then to lose it. To have this soul-consuming love torn away from you. I can't even imagine. The haunting voice, the beautiful music and of cours the heartfelt lyrics just tear apart my heart every time I hear it.
Beautifully haunting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/07
The words that best describe this song to me are "beautifully haunting". I cant find similarities in this powerful song to any other before or after it was created. In my opinion its a work of art that should get more recognition
breathless | Reviewer: wounded by love | 7/25/07
whenever i hear this song, my heart simply stops!! with Annie's voice, and such touching lyrics...its so hard not to fall in love.
and maybe wish i wasn't.
i know this song goes to Dracula...but if you are familiar with Anne Rice's work...you could easily compare the emotions there also.
Simply amazing.. | Reviewer: Moon | 7/12/07
This is the most beautiful, perfect song I have ever heard. Its so intense, it just draws you right in. It also perfectly describes the love I feel for my beloved, and our relationship. Its our song.
