Yes, it is the same song performed by Paul Mauriat's orchestra. The song originated in France, composed by André Popp, lyrics by Pierre Cour and first performed by Vicky Leandros in French in '67, the same year Mauriat performed it. Mauriat's version topped the American charts for 5 weeks in Feb - March '68. Brian Blackburn then translated the lyrics to English, and it has since been performed by several artists including Frank Sinatra and Jeff Beck.

Beautiful song, Paul Mauriat? I heard it while asleep, it's one of those songs that wakes you up and makes you remember it's melody forever. I heard the instrumental version and I'm not sure if it's this same song but as I hum the melody and sing these words to this song they seem to fit easily so I believe it's the same song. Are they Paul Mauriat lyrics?
