Lost Symphonies Lyrics - Saosin

Review The Song (8)

(Live Version)

To install the notion that I divided by I
replace the occasion to speak
cause I'm not the only lonely boy...

Until I decide to take my watch off, I'll still believe that we
we're just a matter of time, still getting older everyday
(shout for shout sake)

Siren siren, don't do this dance in my ear,
At this point I've already lost him once
I do a deadly dance and all I've asked for so little
I've already lost him (once)

If I decided to sever the plates below
the shore would separate and have only seven plates again.

Until I decide to take my watch off, I'll still believe that we
we're just a matter of time, still getting older everyday
(shout for shout sake)

Siren siren, don't do this dance in my ear,

I do a deadly dance and all I've asked for so little
In fact I've already lost him

Before commemorating ten feet tall
and I still have the right to say I hope you still believe

I believe his seven plates are the seven sins in life which comes with every destiny. He's afraid that if he does the deadly dance which the sirens tempt him to do his plates will sever leaving him with a worse destiny of seven again this won't stop until he dies or takes his watch off no matter what he always has the responsibility to be of virtue

Knowing anthonys typical subject matter when it comes to writing lyrics, I reeeeaaaallly doubt this song was written about just "a girl". The drug thing would be a much better guess in my honest opinion but even if that's it im sure its waay deeper than that. The man is pretty extensive.

yea | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/16/11

yea i believe its deeper than just a female. obviously seeing as things didnt work out with anthony and saosin i think its him stating all things you guys have said but his more about his relationship with the band. he wants to go his own direction. i.e. circa survive.

"wow.. i dunno if i'v just totaly lost my vision of imagination.. but i just find this song so hard to make sense of. From the chorus i get the picture of maby someone who's a druggie

"siren siren, don't do this dance in my ear" Maby refering to an ambulance after he's had an o.d?"

"Siren, Siren.." References to a mythological being whose songs would attract seamen towards them and then as soon as the ships crew got close enough they saw the sirens for what they really were and the sirens would kill them.

This song refers to her as a siren because he believes she has a very attractive exterior, but when you become infatuated with her you realise the truth that she actually has an unattractive personality.

The references to time and his watch indicate his urgency to end his relationship with this woman, He believes it may be too late so he is writing a song to try and separate himself from her.

Thanks for inspiration

Maybe... | Reviewer: Taylor | 5/14/09

Maybe like "Anonymous" he's in a relationship and he really loved this girl, but she's only using him. He's also saying it's only a matter of time until their relationship is over, and that he's already lost interest.

Not Quite Sure | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/28/09

Different people will see different things in the song but I think it's about two people in a relationship that's crashing and buring ("I've already lost it all"). The speaker wants to believe that there's something there ("Do a deadly dance, all I've asked for so little") and they want to hear it from their significant other ("I hope you still believe"). The speaker is asking for a straight answer.

Meaning - Lost Symphonies | Reviewer: d | 11/2/08

I have to speculate as well, I havent talked to the songwriters.

I believe its about how he idolized a woman, holding her up as if she was God, wanting her to be God but shes not. She can't replace God or be God so he finally looses everything since he invested in a god that can't be God. A siren is fully wicked and in fact less of a holy or good thing but more of a demon of death and allure. Ugly. Thats what he finds out his woman is.

The fact is, he is abstract and evasive (like he doesnt want to be found out) so its challenging to weed out subjective or red harring content and end up with the objective truth about what he is singing about. I believe he leaves out the context of his songs and it actually creates an allure and mystery .... obviously, its attractive.

We all know most drug addicts lose all they have to keep up their habbit.. so maby?

I really don't think what im saying is what Saosin had in mind.. but u never know.. someone else please submit your opinion in.

Thanks.
