I'll wait here,
You're crazy,
Those vicious streets are filled with strays,
You should have never gone to Hollywood.
They find you,
Two time you,
Say you're the best they've ever seen,
You should have never trusted Hollywood.
I wrote you,
And told you,
You were the biggest fish out here,
You should have never gone to Hollywood.
They take you,
And make you,
They look at you in disgusting ways,
You should have never trusted Hollywood.
[Serj moans "now"]
I was standing on the wall,
Feeling ten feet tall,
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard,
This is my front page,
This is my new age,
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care.
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard.
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care.
Phony people come to pray,
Look at all of them beg to stay,
Phony people come to pray.
[The lines in the letter said "We have gone to Hackensack"]
Look at all of them beg to stay,
Phony people come to pray.
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard,
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard.
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Hollywood Boulevard.
You should have never trusted Hollywood.
You should have never gone to Hollywood.
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care.

Review about Lost In Hollywood someone ! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/22/09
Great song ! I think they show Hollywood as a bad place, wchich is changing and destroying young people, with dreams of making a career. They come there and they're abused, used, and they become rotten and with no morality.

okey this song is really meaningful , as we know Santa monica boulevard is a religious place , people come from all over the world to pray there, unfortunately fags and maggots start hanging there, they smoke and they actually dont care about this place about everything ! now few people come to pray there. SOAD are trying to critisize hollywood !
this song is so good ! (The rythm the lyrics ...Everything !) Way to go SOAD ! love u so much

I connect with this song deeply. As a traveling musician I play in a lot of bands that did well surrounding my small home town. When I moved out to Los Angeles, I joined and band that was set to "make it" but as it turns out, everyone is trying too hard to be rockstar instead of going with their heart. I came home to remember that it isn't about how famous you become, it only matters who you inspire with your music.
Thank you System of A Down.
Meaning. | Reviewer: Elias | 10/10/08
This song tells about a girl/boy who has been invited to Hollywood, probably to act in some plays or etc, but the singer knows it's only fake:
"You should've never gone/trust in Hollywood"
those are words which he tries to tell to the girl/boy who has gone to Hollywood:
´
"I wrote you, and told you. You're the biggest fish out there."
This is everyone's own opinion how they want to understand, but I though that it must mean that the girl/boy is too "talented" to be in Hollywood, and they are abusing her/his skills (in show bisnes)
And the end part of "Phoney people come to pray." Must mean about the directors and people suck like them who are abusing talented people to make money.
That's how I get this song :O Hope somebody agrees with me, or somebody thinks way other than me or then somebody gets new thoughts about my comment.

Best song by SOAD Period.
Daron's vocals fit the mood perfectley
the first time u listen u belive the drums during the first verse are ominous to some heavy metal like most of the other album but its a pleasent suprise to keep the song very slow
This song is wonderful in every aspect. It is one of S.O.A.D.'s slower songs, and I think that a lot of their slower songs are better. I think that this song brings some traditional Armenian-style instrumentals, and fits them in perfectly, and subtly. My favorite aspect by far, is the way Serj integrates his voice into some of the better parts. For example, when he says "The lines in the letter said 'We have gone to Hackensack'" , it sounds perfect against the rest of the melody.

OMFG Madzia you're pain in ass, everyone can make mistakes... I think that song is so calm and alternative than rest song's of System. Yes They have some "calm" song's like "Roulette" or "Lonely Day" but this song is perfect. Go ahead Kalifornijczyk and put lyrics in your native language. Rozumiem mowe polska bo moja matka stamtad pochodzi i pozdrawiam wszystkich fanow soadu

nie "tounge" ("tongue" tak w ogole:]), tylko "language"... lepiej nie próbuj translowac piosenke. phi
