There are signs on the Ring
Which make me feel so down
There's one to enslave all Rings
To find them all in time
And drive them into darkness
Forever they'll be bound
Three for the Kings
Of the elves high in light
Nine to the mortals
Which cry
I'll keep the Ring full of sorrow
I'll keep the Ring till I die
I'll keep the Ring full of sorrow
I'll keep the Ring till I die
Ref.:
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
And there's no way out
Mordor
Mordor
Mordor
Dark land under Sauron's spell
Threatened a long time
Threatened a long time
Seven rings to the dwarfes
In their halls made of stone
Into the valley
I feel down (I feel down)
One ring to the dark lord's hand
Sitting on his throne
In a land so dark
Where I have to go
I'll keep the Ring
I'll keep the Ring
I'll keep the Ring
I'll keep the Ring
I'll keep the Ring
Till I die
Ref. (2x):
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill

Review about Lord Of The Rings Notes on lyrics | Reviewer: Squirrelloid | 7/23/2007
This is a wonderful adaptation of Tolkien's original poem, done with a beautiful musical backing.
It should be noted there are multiple versions of this song. What follows describes the differences of each version from the printed text. As of this writing, the above lyrics do not agree with either version.
The version on Tales from the Twilight Hall skips the bridge lines. (All lines beginning with "I'll keep the ring..."). It also changes a few minor words in the second verse. ("One ring FOR the dark lord's hand", and "In THE land so dark", changes in CAPS). This version plays for 3:18 minutes, and is the original version.
The other version plays for 3:54 minutes, and is live. It has the bridge, but the first line drops the word "full". This version also replaces "gnomes" with "dwarves". It also uses "elfs" instead of "elves", amusingly enough.
Both versions drop the word "for" from each line "Threatened for a long time" so its just "Threatened a long time".
The change of gnomes to dwarves may be just for clarity, but it may also be for correctness. Tolkien used "gnomes" to refer to the Noldor, which are elves prominent in the Silmarillion.
