London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines Lyrics - Panic! At The Disco

Review The Song (23)

Stop stalling, make a name for yourself.
Boy you better put that pen to paper, charm your way out.
If you talk you better walk you better back your shit up
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun

Start talking "a sensationalist"
Oh he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
If you talk you better walk you better keep your mouth shut
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun

(Panic!: meet the press)
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us to take a chance

(Panic!: meet the press)
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us...

Well we're just a wet dream for the webzine,
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
sponsored links
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote

Well we're just a wet dream for the webzine,
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote

I'm burning and I'm blacking my lungs
Boy you know it feels good with fire back on your tongue
If you talk you better walk you better back your shit up
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun

Start talking "a sensationalist"
Oh he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
Well keep quiet let us sing like the doves
Then decide if it's done with purpose or lack thereof.

Just for the record,
The weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of:
A. Indifference or
B. Disinterest in what the critics say

It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us...

Well we're just a wet dream for the webzine,
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote

stupid | Reviewer: Lex Luthor | 1/17/12

Good song. THE END!

NOw I hate text talk, but what I hate even more are jackasses that attempt to attack other people for their "mangling" of the English language, but who are too fucking stupid to spell correctly and use proper grammar themselves.

JUST FUCKING SAYING. Know your shit before you try to attack someone else and only succeed in making a fucking fool of yourself. Sorry for my over4use of the word fuck. Trolls are dumb.

"make us scene" q | Reviewer: nico | 7/22/11

"make us scene" refers to the media, fans, and non fans alike spending so much time trying to place them in a genre rather than focusing on their music. sounds kinda like a lot of the "reviews" for this song. if you have already figured this out after my post sorry for the repetition :(

Can't you people enjoy a song? | Reviewer: Arie | 5/5/11

Well, first of all, well said, Amy! Haven't you people ever heard of just liking a song without having to comment on whether it's emo or not? Who cares? I think the only thing that's important is that they write great songs and that it stays that way. By the way, does bad writing have anything, ANYTHING AT ALL, to do with how good this song is? NO! So shut up. And does people who are mad have anything, I mean ANYTHING, to do with this song? NO! So shut up too and enjoy the fucking song. thank you

Now, I really loved this song, but what does the expression "make us scene" mean? Shouldn't it be "make us seen"? Or "make a scene"? Anyway, great song and greater album!

people, please | Reviewer: amy | 4/10/11

does anyone else realize that this review page has become nothing more a bunch of teens getting yelled at by people that don't like to talk in so-called 'chat speak' and has steered away from the actual song? it's the music that matters, not the label of it or the way people talk when they're bitching about things that aren't even related to the fucking song. this is worse than the my chem page where everyone was talking about whether or not they were emo or not. IT DOES NOT FUCKIN MATTER!!! grunge, post grunge, emo, punk, metal, thrash metal, alternative, whatever!! if you like the music listen to it! talk about the genre of music with your friends, real or imaginary, not with people you dont know on the internet on one of dozens of song lyrics websites.
and another thing, emo is not an appropriate lable for music. emo is commonly associated with the act of cutting, burning, or otherwise inflicting pain on yourself to feel. it is a sad cycle and i know about it. i won't bore you with details, but basicaly i go to therapy, and take meds. it is NOT ok for people to do this for fun, because if you do there is something seriously wrong with you, and you are one sick motherfucker if you engage in recreational cutting. you should never do this to fit in with friends, it is just wrong. when i was in those situations i was hopelessly depressed and wanted desperatly to end my life then and there. say the name of the band if you need to tell someone what you listen to.
and to the people who keep rippin on the other people who use texting talk- get the fuck over yourselves. the world is full of bitches who aren't going to do what you want them to do. that's this new little thing called LIFE. sorry to burst your bubbles, just thought you should know before you got hopes to high and they all fell and came crashing down on your heads.
now heres my interpertation of the song (by the way this is what the page is for ;) just so you know)~
i think its all about how have to make it or break it, then not giving a shit if you didn't. it's like you know you're so good if you can't get what you want the first time you can get it one of the next times, because someone will want to have you on a contract.

that's about all i have to say. i'm sorry that this review had to be so long, but if you people weren't such fucking retards then i wouldn't have to go off on your sorry asses. (and if anyone posts that i must have been really pissed to write this they're gonna get a fist in their face and a foot up their ass)

people who speak in tongues | Reviewer: fuck offf | 1/15/11

John you are a fucking disgrace. You belittle the English language with your sub speak and I hope you rot. It's people like you who allow the rest of the world to spit on and bad mouth the West and your purposely ignorant writing is a fairly clear indicator that you shouldn't have a computer, let alone a home. Finally fuck you, go and jump into a vat of acid you fuckwit piece of shit.
PS I'd kill you on site if I saw you on the streets

Clarification... | Reviewer: grey | 11/15/09

This song is intended to be a slap on the face to the media who intentionally tear pop culture apart, right? I believe they are trying to tell whoever dislikes them to f**k off. The line "we're just a wet dream for the webzine" is supposed o mean that their only apparent purpose is their looks?...correct me if I'm wrong...a few people have. Just wanted to clarify.

love it! | Reviewer: Pille | 2/19/09

This song is AWESOME, and i mean it, its REALLY AWESOME, something even barney stinson would find AWESOME. The music, the lyrics and his voice are in such an harmony, really nice.

PS: yeah John your right, i think he just had a bad day and he wants to speak with anyone about it ;)

Diary | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/19/09

i don't know if anyone noticed but..
the whole thing with the weather is also taken from a Chuck Palahniuk book called Diary.
in the book, the narrator frequently says something like this for example: Just for the record, the weather today is partly suspicious with chances of betrayal.

OMG this guy was mad!!!! | Reviewer: John | 2/9/09

You are all a bunch of idiots... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/29/08

Okay, first off thank you all who actually USE English!! This is NOT directed to any of you, only a few select idiots on this sight. All right, this is my first point here. I absolutely love Panic at the Disco. They are amazing and I have loved them ever since their video of "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" premiere on MTV. That is my disclaimer. I am not just some idiot who has nothing better to do than rant about how much bands I do not particular have a liking for because I have NO social life. Those people just need to bite me and head on over to eBay, I hear that they sell social lives really cheap. [If your lucky you might get an original idea in that empty space between your ears!! Yay!] My next point is if you have something to say, express it in a way that is not offending, and rude. SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHEN [U TLK LYKE THS]!!!!!!!! It's rude to speak in a way that is not understood by the audience you are writing for, namely on this site, ANYONE WITH INTERNET ACESS! One of my closest friends was born in an entirely different country, and continent for that matter. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, despite barely speaking English. I find it extremely rude when people who do not know her well try to communicate with her in 'Chat speak'. Please do not act like you do not know any better, and do not belittle your education you have obviously received if you can read what I have written. This is meant to be left in a chat room for the purpose of gossiping [Which I also do not approve of, because it too is extremely rude.] over what you should wear to the movies with the 'hottie' that asked you out from 5th period, not everyday life. My next topic is that 'emo' is not a style or a label!!! It is a genre of music!! Emo and cutting are not the same thing. If you are that kind of person that is the stereotypical emo kid that sits their wrists you need to go see a therapist pronto! Cutting is a form of self harming, not 'emo'. That is probably one of the most insensitive things I have ever heard anyone be called. Well I hope you take this to heart, and think about what you type, and how it can effect others.

amazing! | Reviewer: kay | 8/15/08

i loooove this song! it's so catchy.
and if you like panic at the disco check out vitamin string quartet's tribute to them. they did panic at the disco's Pretty Odd album in violins, cellos, and other string instruments. i bought it and i'm addicted!

Time to clear up some shit. | Reviewer: Garry | 7/8/08

This song is Panic at the Disco taking the piss out of the scene that spawned them. It's an excellent piece of work both musically and lyrically. I felt like I had to get this point across because most of the reviewers are using some sort of text language to put across their points. Not all of this bands fans are idiot scene kids! My own taste ranges from Billy Bragg to Protest The Hero.

This band is not emo, but a lot of their influences are very poppy. If you like Head Automatica, buy this album. It's very lazy of reviewers to bump P!@TD in with the emo crowd since they are on Pete Wentz label, but don't let this put you off. Their fantastic debut heavily features tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and a dance-rock delivery. Their new album Pretty Odd rejects this style in favour of a more Beatles-inspired pop rock sound.

Songs to download: That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed), Time To Dance, Build God Then We'll Talk.

loved always | Reviewer: share | 1/15/08

i love this song! my sister turned me on to panic! at the disco and i will be forever grateful for that. i would also like to say that i have this whole song memorized and all of they're other songs too. for emo people(like me) these people should be your idols-i would love to have them at my birthday party this year!!!!!!!!!!

P!ATD rock | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/12/08

this song is sooooo gd, the lyrics are amazing not just in this song but in all of there songs. they are different to other bands n they are doing it well!

... | Reviewer: izzy | 9/3/07

I personaly don't really like this song but i think it means they don't want people to just like there music because it sounds good, they want you to actually listen to the words.
