Lilac Wine Lyrics - Katie Melua

Review The Song (1)

I lost myself on a cool, damp night.
Gave myself in that misty light.
Was hypnotised by a strange delight,
Under a lilac tree.
I made wine from the lilac tree,
Lost my heart in it's recipe.
It made me see what I want to see,
And be what I want to be.

But I think more than I ought to think
I do things I never should do
I drink much more than I ought to drink
Because, it brings me back you....

Lilac wine is sweet and heady, like my love,
Lilac wine, - I feel unsteady, like my love.
Listen to me...
I cannot see clearly.
Isn't that he, coming to me
Nearly here?

Lilac wine is sweet and heady.
Where's my love?
Lilac wine, - I feel unsteady,
Where's my love?
Listen to me...
Why is everything so hazy?
Isn't that he, or am I going crazy?

Lilac wine, I feel I'm ready
for my love...
Feel I'm ready for my love.

hey... um im a very big fan of jeff buckley and i am a strong believer that some songs should be sung by only some people... but i did enjoy it because after all it is one of my all time favourite songs! i think that Katie needed more emotion... like i didnt feel that she was singing from experience and that she wasnt desperate to want to get the message across.. it is a mellow song but i felt it lacked a little passion. But seriously keep it up katie!!! my family are a big supporter of you:) you have an amazing voice... just need that passion:) ... summer e.
