6. LIGHT GRENADES [2.20]

We're given, a garden, and gave back, a parking lot.
we got about fifteen minutes to go!
Before this, audience, starts throwing, tomatoes yeah!
it's not the end, there is more show!
We got about fifteen minutes to go!

Survived the plague, floated the flood,
Just peeked our heads above the mud.
No one's immune, deadening bells,
My God, will we survive ourselves?!

I'm not an, alarmist,
but someone, should break the glass,
and pull that red, T-lever down!
to get their, attention
start lobbing, the light grenades.
that burst and blind them with the truth,
eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!

Survived the plague, floated the flood,
just peeked our heads above the mud.
No oneís immune, deafening bells,
my God, will we survive ourselves?!
Survived the plague, floated the flood,
just peeked our heads above the mud.
Wipe off your face, we've come this far.
Come on, remember who you are.

Survived the plague, floated the flood,
just peeked our heads above the mud.
No one's immune, deafening bells, oh my God
Survived the plague, floated the flood,
just peeked our heads above the mud.
Wipe off your face, we've come this far.
Come on, remember who you are.

Come on, remember who you are.
Come on! Remember who you are! (Remember! Remember!)
Come one! Remember who you are! (Remember! Remember!)
Come on, Remember who you are!!!!!!

Music is the product from the artist.. It grows with them. You are saying they sold out cause it's different from what it started as? If you don't like the corniness that's fine. Everyone has their taste, but it doesn't mean they sold out.

I however this this album is amazing. Suck it!

This album's one of the best ever! | Reviewer: Tommy Rocks | 4/30/09

I disagree with those who think this album's not good! It's just great, the lyrics are just awesome and it's always good to see a band try new things. If they always do the same thing, we will get sick of them for sure. This album's terrific, from Quicksand to Look Alive!
Songs like Anna Molly are just whoa! and how about A Kiss To Send Us Off??! He shouts about resplendent tongues and stuff, and still it sounds like the coolest thing ever!!

They aren't sell outs | Reviewer: Sunzie | 4/8/09

The fact that they AREN'T the same as they were in previous albums means they are growing not selling out. Wouldn't you be bored if they went on and on with the same stuff everytime? If you can't appreciate this album I feel sorry for you because you are missing out. Incubus is THE greatest band and the RHCP is next for me.

Great album | Reviewer: Buckle21 | 3/2/09

This is probably Incubus's greatest musical and lyrical achievement. Every song sounds great. Dig is one of the deepest and most well written songs ive ever heard. Earth to Bella (pt 1) is an amazing song. Kiss to Send us off and Anna Molly are 2 more great songs. This album is an example of what a band can do when they give it all they've got.

If you think Incubus sold out, that's good for you. I doubt anyone, including myself, can even come close to writing anything as meaningful as even one of these songs. Incubus is a great band from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. to Morning View, Make Yourself to A Crow Left of the Murder... and now Light Grenades.

Sell outs... | Reviewer: NJ | 1/24/09

I have to agree with anonymous. I laugh at anyone who tries to defend this album, or says that Incubus is one of those few bands whom haven't sold out.

No, actually with this album it makes them the biggest sudden sell out band I can think of. The songs are corny and mushy, attempting to reach a completely different audience than when they first started. (I mean seriously, "oil and water", "even diamonds start out as coal"? And what the ****'s with Bella?) I couldn't stop picturing the band out to smite the hearts of tween/teenage high school girls everywhere. Great, but this completely forgets their roots.

This compared to S.C.I.E.N.C.E? To Morning View? Even Crow Left of the Murder? Don't make me laugh! I was literally ill after listening to this a dozen times through.

I don't understand, no I can't fathom how long-time Incubus fans could be making some of the comments on here, unless they only listen to the radio songs or whatever.

This album is terrible. I'll give Incubus one chance to make it up next time, but I suspect they've gone and sold the farm.

full album | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/22/08

this is the perfect example of writing a complete album w/ theme and not writing songs just to write songs. On this album i believe that every song could be a single, but since they all have similar themes its obvious that the songs were made w/ the intention of a complete album, one that you can listen to w/o skipping songs. this just adds to incubus's long list of achievements, and theyre definately not stopping anytime soon

you're so wrong | Reviewer: Misty | 9/3/07

I'm on my way to Light Grenades #3 this year (South Shore, Lake Tahoe, July 15; Rockfest the 12th, Portland, Oregon, Aug 26, and Hard Rock Hotel, The Joint, Las Vegas Sept. 6). You're so wrong about this album -- Light Grenades is Light Years ahead in lyrical content as well as sublime riffs, beats and singability. Excellent, as usual, especially in concert. The Mist.

Hi | Reviewer: Jorda Davies | 8/8/07

I'm a moron, and have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't know the first thing about drums, and I especially don't understand the direction incubus are heading.

I also define my music in contrast to corporate standards because I have none of my own.

wow | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/6/07

"they've finally completely sold out". I love it when people base an opinion solidly on what they believe to be right, In no way what so ever does this album sell out or fit into the corporate guidelines. If you even took the time to listen to the album the guitar work alone doesn't fit into the said "corporate" sound so many bands have now. this album which was produced by brendon o'brian clearly is not compressed at all, they man has produced the likes of rage against the machine, stone temple pilots, pearl jam and audioslave. i think he knows what hes doing, try adjusting the sound controls on your radio. I honestly think the only reason you made that comment is, one for the attention (which you clearly got) or two you just really have no idea what you are talking about. my money's on both, and attention seeking moron.

Keep Making Good Music! | Reviewer: Dom | 3/10/07

I have to admit I was a little taken aback by this album at first, but having read up on it I was fully prepared for it.

Despite Mikey saying the album sounds like 'thirteen different songs played by thirteen different bands', there is the usual Incubus cohesion throughout. By saying that I mean that there are the usual turntable effects courtesy of Kilmore, sick riffs thanks to Mikey, good bass liners from Ben and super vocals from Brandon.

My advice to anyone who buys this album would be to listen a few times before making an opinion. These guys have a great pedigree and make great music as a result. Also take time to read and consider the lyrics, that is part of really appreciating what Incubus are about.

Keep them coming guys!
