Landslide Lyrics - Stevie Nicks
Review The Song (10)
I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down
Oh mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Mmm mmm I don’t know
Mmm mmm Mmm mmm
Well I’ve been afraid of changing ‘cause I
Built my life around you.
But time makes you bolder
Children get older and I’m getting older too
sponsored linksI’ve been afraid of changing ‘cause I
I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder, even children get older
and I’m getting older too
I’m getting older too
So, take this love, take it down.
Oh, if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills,
Well maybe, the landslide ‘ill bring it down.
Well, well the landslide with bring it down.

Thank you for such a universally heart felt sng | Reviewer: Kathy | 4/8/14
As my one and only baby girl moved on to college this year, I listenws to this song, crying on the way to work, finally understanding it's deeper meaning.. Like the carpet being pulled from beneath you, the fact that you child has grown is the landslide this song invokes in me. I know it has a more personal meaning to Stevie, but thank you for this beautiful song, and for the many before and after it. You have been a constant in my life, your music touches my heart and soul and I will be forever grateful
Another Empty Nester Learning to Cope | Reviewer: Andrea Steele | 6/29/13
Just as another parent stated above, without a doubt, my opinion of the classic song also is about realizing your babies have actually become productive adults. Yes that was the goal and i will admit im extremely pleased, yet i did build my life around both boys and a girl(all 5yrs apart)when one started school i began again. My youngest, the girl, will be 11 july 1st.Who am i, what do i want to do and where and why.I know in time i'll be fine and have plenty of time to do Gods work. That brings me great joy as well.I just listen to the song and cry, it will never be the same, but somehow in someway in my heart i believe they will find a reason to need me from time to time...at least i hope.Bless you Stevie

Beautiful and Meaningful! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/12/12
I truly feel this song deep within my soul and believe it to be about major transitions in life, ultimately ending a long term relationship which forces you to re-examine all that you believed about yourself and love.
She ends her love and begins an up hill climb to realize just how cold and alone she has been, but also is uncertain of her future, "mirror in the sky, what is love?"

This song reminds me of my aunt. She loves it, but I liked it too before I knew it was one of her favorites..great minds think alike? It helped me realize that sometimes we have to take the good things in life with the bad..sometimes, and to be glad that God did give us so much to be grateful for. If I had to rate it its definately a ten.

What it means to me... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/7/11
I had to end the love of my life. He wasn't in love with me. Fifteen years have gone by. It ripped my guts out but I did it. I truly built my life around him. The landslide hit and I took my love down. I'm still standing and I'm getting older too...
