I dont see how its difficult to interpret such a simple song.

Happiness is something that you can feel without others bestowing it on you unrelated to external conditions and that is one's liberty.

Lovely lyrics however very difficult to follow , humans will remain humans and desire remains pertenant.

Every music is like a mirror, and people see in it what they want to see. That's what beautiful about words but also there demise, since it's difficult to transmit an objective message.

To me this music symbolizes the fact that love is born in the mind. Attraction is born from the senses, but love is born from one's mind, from attraction.

And when we love ourselves in our minds it can last as long as the mind continues to exist, contrary to when we place it in something exterior to us.

And it also speaks of the impermanence of happiness - a change -, and the fact that we decide what makes us happy. The love of a fair maiden, the acceptance and love of oneself...

And he feels a lucky man with fire in his hands, because he feel that he discovered it for himself, and he discovered the love of self.

That's my interpretation. Where my mind's at.

I think that the admission that happiness is something in our liberty makes pretty obvious what the song is all about: To be happy is to be free.

The lucky man is the one who realizes it, he has fire in his hand, fire, the first thing we humans creat to separate us from animals, it stands for the power to create amazing things, like this song, the lucky man is the one who knows this, is potential, he knows who he is, he is absolutley free.

I guess, everyone makes up his own version of the song. This is what I believe this song is about for me:

getting older, accepting and starting to enjoy the person you are...becoming a lucky man. Now, you see that girl you have always been waiting for...she looks perfect for you...you enjoy the person SHE is and u only hope that she too enjoys the person YOU are...because being and enjoying yourself as a person and having someone who you love and of who you know she enjoys and loves the person you are...well, thats perfect for me!

...just hoping to get to her, taking small steps/corners hoping not to risk the bigger thing (her not loving you). Surely worth the risk, always looking for more certainty...taking another corner hoping a straight street leading to your dream shows up
