James Mead – Guitar / Stu – Bass / Kyle Mitchell – Drums / Ryan Shrout – Guitar / Jon-Micah Sumrall - Vocals

HOMETOWN : Portland, Oregon

AUTOBIOGRAPHY : Kutless combines sincere and plaintive vocals with absorbing, dynamically intense new hard rock. Produced and engineered by Aaron Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu, Stavesacre, Squad 5-0), this young Portland, Oregon band has delivered an inspired and inspirational self-titled debut album in which Kutless has recorded eleven compelling songs. These tracks feature strong vocals from compelling frontman Jon-Micah Sumrall who, at the tender age of 20, has a voice as resonant as those for Creed or Third Day, firing music as sharp and aggressive as Incubus or Puddle of Mudd.

When these guys first hit the scene, I thought they were the "bees knees." Nowadays, they seemed to have toned it down a bit. Lyrically, they still got it going. They're just not as hard as they used to be. Good job. If you like Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, Casting Crowns, you'll be sure to like them these days. Their old stuff is more to the likes of Pillar, Disciple and Skillet.

I never read the bio. on Kutless before, but everytime an inspirational song knocks my socks off and challenges my soul, or makes it cry out "yes" in affirmation, I find out the song is by Kutless. This is an awesome group. I love "heart of the innocent" my son believes in Wicca and turned his back on God, I pray that he'll come along and see kutless in Sioux Falls s.d. @ Lifelight!!! can't wait. and I hope to meet them. God Bless

they are totally on top | Reviewer: Praise | 7/21/08

to sofi:
Yes all of those groups you named are all Christians. I am practically a hardcore rock fan so I would know.

Kutless rocks the house. I have other bands that are like them though. To me, there is no first place..if they all share the love of Christ they are all winners

no other band has blessed me more | Reviewer: demon | 4/10/08

first off, the band members ARE NOT mean in any way, shape, or form. they are some of the coolest dudes i've ever met and it was clear from the jump that they live for and through christ.

they ALWAYS take time after their shows to sit down and sign autographs and fellowship a little bit. i can't think of ONE mainstream band that does that on a consistent basis like these awesome guys do.

if you've never heard kutless, i really feel sorry for you. go listen to them right now.

Oh. My. Gawd. | Reviewer: Sara NewsboysLuvr | 4/8/07

I recently went to see the Newsboys, Kutless, and Stellar Kart- I'd never listented to Kutless. They pretty much took my faith and rocked it's very roots. Thanks, Kutless, for such an enjoyable evening.

Very Good | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/25/06

Kutless is a cutting-edge band that combines passion with raw energy. Their melodic rock songs and ballads are actually as good as anything you will find in mainstream music. What Kutless must do to expand to gain more mainstream acceptance with this positive Christian message is to avoid the monotonous grunge, been-there, done-that sound of the past 15 years, rock hard, add some neat and penetrating guitar solos, and to not surrender to the call of mainstream by turning away from a patently Christian message. This is a good band that deserves more attention from both CCM and mainstream. Unfortunately CCM avoids rock like it is a plague, for the most part. The only songs you hear on CCM stations are Strong Tower and It's Like Me.

Christian bands | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/30/05

Yes all of those bands listed below are Christian bands from the first post. Well this band rocks on...I heard they were kind of mean though >.< oh well. They are still a really awesome band that wants more of Christ in their lives.

Kutless | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/17/05

Someone asked about those bands being Christian. The answer is yes for Kutless, Skillet, Life House, POD. The rest of the bands I've never heard of.

I love Kutless! Their lyrics are meaningful, and their sound is quite unique.

Thank you | Reviewer: Mandy J | 5/2/05

I want to give a big thanks to all the Christian Bands out there. Your songs change peoples lives. God works miracles through your music. When you feel like you aren't getting anything accomplished I want you to know you are, and you can and will do all things through Christ who stregthens you.

Sincerely
Amanda J. Lounsbury
