Timo Kotipelto was born in Lappajдrvi, Finland. He went through the Finnish school system (college etc). When he was 13 his parents bought him drums which he played until he was sixteen. Then, some of his friends (with whom he played at the time) made him believe that he could sing and play drums at the same time. He was foolish enough to try that. Of course, it didn’t work. It seems that he was an even bigger fool when he quit playing drums and concentrated solely on singing. By accident, he later found himself studying vocals/music. He noticed that he pretty much liked it! That’s how he ended up studying vocals in Helsinki at the pop/jazz conservatory. That was in autumn of 1992.
