Killers LP review | Reviewer: chuck case | 8/30/11

Basically a compilation with 4 new tracks.I'm a Kiss fan who prefers their heyday in the 70s to their mid to late 80s output.I can listen to their stuff pre-Asylum with joy mostly. This one from 82 is THE exception. If you MUST buy a KISS comp.,stick with Double Platinum which is priced as a single CD these days instead of a 2 LP set when I bought it back in 78.True, there are some decent Kiss cuts but the 4 new trax presented amid the hits make it a tough listen. All 4 are sung by Paul & sound & feel like filler. The 2 best Of these (I'm a legend.. & Nowhere To Run which isn't saying much) are available on the Kiss box set which gives a 4 disc overview of their career. Down On Your Knees & Partners In Crime are bottom of the barrel & shouldn't have been released. My rating 3. Even for a Kiss fan who likes to have most if not all their albums,if there's one non-essential LP this is it.The ONLY thing that makes some of their later material more essential is the fact that they are complete albums of new material to love or hate.Killers is for the fan who needs EVERYTHING they did.Potential fans;DO NOT start here!!!
