to the first guy who posted, the same thing can be said to you about all the "rebelious stage", you only play odd instruments and listen to "intellectual and deep" music just to beg for attention. jeez, i bet you use thick rimmed glasses and use skinny jeans

Indie-folk is a scarcely spoken of genre, but these guys, Neutral Milk Hotel were pioneers. I saw them a long time ago. It's a genre that all listeners are "odd". You see people who like to be "different", notice how they're all the same? These people, I am one as well. Are the actual wierdos. I play mandolin, acordian. "Different" people play guitar all rebelliously. The whole trilogy of King of Carrot Flowers provoked the folk band revolution and this is considered to be one of the greatest albums of the year it was released, and one of the best indie albums of all time.
I highly recommend the whole album if you want to join the ranks of the odd. It's a good world, the people are nice. :)
