Killing Heidi were unearthed by Triple J Radio with their song Kettle in 1996. Brother and sister song writing team Ella and Jessie Hooper, only 18 and 20 respectivly. In being unearthed it showed that these young people had talent and that they were able to mix with people twice their age. Their debut single Weir got into the top 10 and their second Mascara got to number one position for three weeks and Killing Heidi were the first Aussie band to do that in three Years. Their debut album Reflector also got to the number one position. Ella and Jessie Hooper were raised in Violet Town (A small country town in Victoria, Australia) and learnt at a very young age of how playing music is more exciting than watching Television or hearing music from the wireless.
