this song means so much to me recently my dog died and as crazy as it sounds he was just like a dad to me, i miss him so much. you know the dog of peter pan 'nanna' that reminds me of jeffery (my dog) every day. i would do anything to have my johnny (my hubby) back, we recently split and it was a mistake and now im 8months pregnant and this has made me go through alot of changes, morning sickness is a bitch.

My brother died recently in a motorcycle accident. He was a great father and left behind a 14 year old daughter - she wasn't his biological daughter but she was his heart daughter. And she took his death hard - like all of us did. She asked if this song could be put into the program for his funeral. Everytime I hear it - I think of the changes that we all have had to go through - and I am reminded of his deep eternal love he had for his daughter.

this song is great. is actually has meaning. it's not just another one of an artists hits that they are trying to make big. this song just is big. i found it a few years ago and had forgotten about it. i recently just heard it again and the first time in a while i heard it, i cried. me and my dad used to be very close. i have always been a daddys girl. but now we actually have gone through changes. there is nothing you can do about it, and he actually has let me go, in a way. i'll be 18 soon and had been talking about moving out right then. i had even asked for help moving for my brithday present. now we are getting better but we wont be how we were when i was 5, but we are both working on accepting that. this is just a great song for anything. i thought it would be a good song for a weedding, even though i do not plan on marrying in my life time. it could be a nice song to listen to when i graduate next year, i know that will be a big change for my dad.

I'm only 18 and I do have a special someone (but I'm not married) but when this song came out in 2003 (I was 13 or 14), I knew that I wanted this song to be it for the father-daughter dance at my wedding. One of his favorite artists is Ozzy Osbourne and he likes his version of the song. I grew up listening to Ozzy and the first time I heard the duet, I knew that was it. I always knew I wanted a different song other than the typical "Butterfly Kisses" and this is perfect. I havent't told him because I want it to be a surprise.

One word is no rip off.
The melody is similar to that of 'Fade To Grey' by Visage, however the lyrics are completely different as are the tones of the song. The melody of One Word does infact sound better. Think of how many rock songs that use the same (or very similar) riffs. Theres hundreds. One Word is a great song, it's NOT a rip-off and i'm sick of ignorant people saying it is.

many dont know this but this song is a ripoff of an old hit 80's song, like most of kellys songs it's not her original work.

it's actually a rip off of a song by Visage - "Fade To Grey" is the name of the original.

I love this song so much i love my dad like more than anything and i really conect to this song and dad feels the same way and every year the choir at my school (which i am in) holds this talent show type thing but its not a talent show its just like where the members of the choir can go out and sing a song or as many as they want and its for the music boosters well anyway my dad and i are going to sing this song together in march when we have it

i just have to tell him we are singing it first haha

I found this song yesterday on myspace. I have enjoyed this song so much and it brings tears to my eyes because me and my daddy were so close. It makes me feel so close to my dad (that passed away last year). I wish that he could have heard it as well because I know that he would have felt the same way.
