Even before 16-year-old Karina Pasian signed to Def Jam
records, the stellar singer was already making a name for
herself. From her winning performance on Star Search in
2003 to singing at the White House last June during Black
Music Month, this New York City chanteuse has been paying

What Karina is attacking is society through a different way. When she says 'aint no daddies where I'm from its just mad mothers' she explaining to the audience where her people are. Raised with no father. She asks why is she disrespected by her brothers and sisters who I assume are black living in the ghetto. She is attacking her society and she's battling herself because she's a product of her society even If she doesn't want to be. She's not saying she personally is from this environment, but she's. Stating her battle along with millions of other african american young women, this battle she's fighting is with herself to overcome her environment.

Hey, I know how you feels: ima' 16yr old and wearing the tight clothes just to be accepted isn't cool... dosen't mean you can't dress decent. If you got to do all that just to be accepted,then the boy is't worth the pot of gold. FEEL-ME?
