me and my friend angie has loved kc since we were 16 we just went to his show for the first time at bb kings in nyc...we had a great time and would like to see him again....wish he gave out autographs but he didnt ....still love him
I saw KC & The Band at the Hard Rock on May 1st. I thought the show was one of the best that I have even seen them put on. I have been reading the comments posted. I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as far as KC stealing royalties..Rick Finch's name is on all the music published that I have seen. So unless he has sold his rights, he still should be getting royalties. And as far as paying to be a part of his fan club (or any fan club)it takes money to operate a business. Everyone should realize, THIS IS A BUSINESS! KC has always been very nice to me and the group that see him after the shows. I have seen him for the past 9 years off and on and haven't experienced anything but a great time from KC & his band members.....
THIS IS FOR THE GROUP I HAVE SEEN KC & SUNSHINE BAND IN CONCERT IN BILOXI MISSISSIPPI LAST YR AND THEY WERE AMAZING AND SOUND GREAT AND PLAN ON SEEING again next month KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK WAYNE.IT SURE REMINDS ME OF GOOD TIMES AND STILL CAN DANCE TO THEIR TUNES.

------ About the song Please Don't Go performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
i begged my husband of 19 years not to leave me and our 3 boys. he met a older woman online and started having an affair. we lived in alabama and she lived in a 500K house in orlando with a seven year old daughter. after a couple of months, she allowed him to move in with her and her daughter. what single mother would allow a man that she just met online and would allow that man to move in with a small child. you know some men especially target single mothers with daughters, they work on getting their confidence and then they go after the daughter. my ex would never do something like that, i trust him in that. but how could a mother do that? he told me on our nineteenth wedding anniversary that he was leaving me and there was not a d*** thing that i could do about it. well that morning home health came out and took out a groshon that was implanted in me to deliver antibotics and i was not given any heprin to dissolve blood clots, well they spread all over me. in three days, i collapsed, had a massive stroke and fell into a coma. i was in a coma for three days. they did a MRI on my brain and i had 6 blood clots on my brain. the boys tried to get their dad to come when the paramedics were there trying to get me to the hospital, and he refused. when i was finally transfered to a second hospital, he finally showed up. where was he? he was in savannah, ga in a nice hotel with his online lover. he couldn't leave her to go tend to a family crisis. even after all that pain, hurt and anger, i still begged him to please don't go. but it did no good. that has been 8 years ago. we were devastated. but God is so good. we lost our home, car, but God provided a 3 bedroom 2 bath mint condition apt. just perfect for us. we struggled on 164 dollars a month for eight months until i could get SSI. and my ex made the comment that he could not believe that i was getting a check. he could not stand it. he was mad because i never worked. i babysitted, but that was not work. but what he doesn't understand if something were to happen to him, he would get a paltry check. and i don't want anything to happen to him, as bad as he done us. i don't want the kids to suffer, because they love their dad. and i want them to have a good relationship with him. my oldest son had started jr. college when this began and when i survived the coma and got around, went back to the same school he did and we both graduated with honors. the president picked out six grads out the whole class to honor and he picked my son, me and four other people. that was great. God is so good. then i had to find a surgeon to correct my crushed and turned over ankle, after four months, my ankle was fixed and then when i came out of surgery, i had three infections and i had to dome health myself and self IV big bags of vancomyicin. 75 bags, one a day. little did i know at the time i was destroying and burning out my kidneys. now i am on kidney dialysis three days a week, and i have to travel by ambulance on a gurney and i am bedridden. i am now confined to a nursing home bed. but God is so good. i have some really great people taking care of me after being in a really bad nursing home, i didn't even get a shower for eight months and my hair only got shampooed six times. my hair was so nice and now it is shot. but God is so good. i have a great place to live and the people here are so incredibly good to me. the ambulance people are wonderful. i even give gift cards when they leave to go to other jobs and baby gifts when they have babies. i just adore them. i feel sorry for the boy's dad. what he has done is going to come back around to him and i just pray that he is going to be prepared to handle it.
Self-Centered Jerk is being nice. I've met Kc before and his attitude is always: "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME". I also met one of his good friends a couple years ago in a Jacksonville, Fl night club. This guy had went to high school with KC and has been a friend ( I use that term loosely) of KC's for many years. He did'nt have a whole lot of nice things to say about him. That is pretty bad when you're good friends are like that. I also met an aqquaintance of his in a Charlotte, NC night club. He was the same! KC? do you have any real friends? Like the other lady that commented, The real talent behind KCSB is Richard Finch.. I've heard the story on how KC had literally stolen the rights to the music from Mr. Finch. For some reason, it does not surprise me. KC? Rick made you what you are. I was a member of KCSB Fan Club in the 70's, and it was free.. I cant believe 30 years later that KCSB Fan Club is $25.00 to join.. WOW.. Oh well. once a thief , always a thief. God Bless You Rick Finch. The people that really know who you are and what you are all about love you...

------ About the song I Get Lifted performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
When KC and the Band came out with this jompe, it was decades, I say DECADES ahead of its time. Its been sampled of note by South Philly's own "Tuff Crew", and still sampled by other artist today. Play that song anywhere, anytime, any club, people WILL JAM TO IT - that my friends is the TRUE test.

I have never heard the one by KC and the sunshine band, but I have heard the one by: George McCrae I would like to hear that version since they both kind of sound alike.
I knew KC,and let me tell you, thats just how he is.he's a very moody guy.you would think he would be all over his fans from his stage presence, but he's just not.the first time I met him,we had a fight.I spent a long time painitng a portrait of him,I took it to his trailor, and all he did was stick his head out thje window and say thanks.i said "through the window!??" but hes always been like that.its nothing personal.sorry you were disappointed. he does have his good days though, if you catch one

------ About artist/band KC & The Sunshine Band
It's amazing how distorted the accounting of history is on this bio --- KC was only one part of the puzzle (and not the most talented part at that). Just because he sang lead means nothing. He was never that good of a singer to begin with. The credit and accolades most certainly should go to Richard Finch, CO-founder of KC and the Sunshine Band, and is also one half of that writing team responsible for all of their hits. KC trashed Mr. Finch and has stolen music royalties from him for many, many years. How he can live with himself is beyond me.
What goes around, comes around, KC --- the truth WILL come out, and once it does, let's see how many people continue to flock to your substandard, poorly produced shows. There's not an "L" (for "loser") big enough to tattoo on your very large forehead!!!
I saw KC and the Sunshine Band at Military Park in Indiana on Sept 1. Great show, full of energy and the songs where just as good as back then. The thing I was most upset about was that after the show he never took the time to meet the fans. There where about 20 of us out back, his band members stoped to talk to us, I even got an autograph of some of them. But as far as KC, he came through the gate and never even looked at us or said anything. I was very disappointed in him. I thought KC would be a down to earth guy who really appreciated his fans, I hope you see this KC and realize this fan was hurt. But still you did put on a totally awsome show.

------ About the song Please Don't Go performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
This is for our son who is about to go back to Iraq, Some of the words are a little mushy for a son from family members, But the chorus is exactly how I feel. I pray for all of our Soldiers, and I know that every Mother, Father, Wife,SOn, Daughter, Brother, and sister feel this way as the song says when their loved one leaves to go to war. PLEASE DON'T GO, But I know that they are protecting our Country and it is something that has to be done.

------ About the song Get Down Tonight performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
'Get Down TOnight' has an exceptional and original sound that will probably never loose its appeal to any listener of great music. The blend of the keyboards, horns, baseline, percussion and vocals in this song are simply ingenious! I enjoy dancing and singing to this song everytime I hear it... so I end up playing it over and over again. Few artists can master this feat.

------ About the song Get Down Tonight performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
This song was playing in the background in the last scene in ER. Before Sam Taggart got the call from her son Alex. When Neela and Ray are putting change in the machine to listen to music and Neela put in B3 or B4 and Ray askes what she put in and then he looked and it was KC and the Sunshine Band Get Down tonight and they all begin dancing and getting drunk.

------ About the song I Get Lifted performed by KC & The Sunshine Band
I love this song this is my favorite song of all times.........
This rare gem song is one of the bst songs I have ever listened to. It reminds me of the old skool nostalgia rhythm & blues tunes with its "old skool tempo and rhythm".
I wish there could be an extended (i.e. 12 inch) version and also placed or copied to C.D. (compact disk).
Kudos to K.C. & Sunshine band for their music career longevity and I sincerely hope they keep on singing for a long time to come!
Yours sinceely,
Patrick A.O.
