FORMED: 1991 Sister and brother Sarah and Gert Bettens were active in the music scene when they were very young. Sarah was singing along with ABBA and Donna Summer in front of the mirror. Later she became addicted to Annie Lennox, 'because she masters so many styles as a singer'. Gert, a few years older, listened to The Police, The Smiths and Lloyd Cole and was playing with a band (The Basement Plugs) yet. When Sarah asked whether she once could sing with this band, her voice turned out to be better than the whole band itself. After that it became a little more serious. Their cover of Melissa Etheridge's Like the Way I Do, taped at a party, fetched up in the just started record company Double T, and they offered Sarah a solo-contract. I always used to see drugs as a mystical adventure that Ill never have the courage to get myself into... until my ex-boyfriend started doing meth and cocaine (we had broken up before he started).. it really hurt me... the pain I feel is strange... Another I would recommend is "Heroin, She Said" by Wolfsheim, a great song to dance to at the clubs, as well. Sex addiction is a different animal than drug addiction or alcoholism, but the disease is the same. I recommend to anyone wondering if they've got a problem to visit whichever applicable 12-Step website (AA, NA, OA, or SAA, those are he ones I know of) and educate yourself. But it probably won't matter until you hit bottom anyway, since most people deny the existance of their problem until it's too late or almost too late. When you're ready, there will be a meeting/group ready to welcome you without judgement. You just have to scrape together the courage to go to it. I relate to the song though I'm not much of a stoner (which is good) but there are nights, lonely nights or nights with friends and sundry when this song really accentuates the smoke in the air. I'm a 6ft tall male that dropped from 185 to 115 from Cocaine,Oxy's and many other drugs. I'm off of them now and am back to my normal weight. I've known this song for a long time but never REALLY understood it til about a year ago. It tells a story of me and my girlfriend who is locked up in re-hab. I praise her for finnaly seeing she needed help, she had been there now for almost 14 months, to anyone that's not locked up that might not seem like a long time, but think to yourself of everything that happens in a year +, birthdays, holidays, etc... I'm a little bit surprised that there is'nt anymore comments on this song as opposed to the rest on this website. I'll enter a update on this soon if anyone cares to hear it.
