Justin Garner was selected by Artists on the Rise in May of 2012 and featured for his single “We Rule the Night”. In addition to being acknowledged nationally, Justin was also featured on iTunes (Japan), on both Pop and R&B/Soul charts. Fans, students, and music lovers alike are touting Justin as the new voice of this generation. With a growing buzz overseas and an established fan base in the United States, this unsigned Pop R&B artist is destined for greatness.

From the small town of Plaquemine, Louisiana, Justin is no stranger to hard work and adversity. At a very young age he dealt with the tragedy of losing his father. Years later, following in his father’s footsteps, Justin discovered that he too had the gift of music. He honed his talents by singing in the church and studying the harmonies of Earth, Wind and Fire as well as the vocal performances of Michael Jackson. He was also greatly influenced by the music of Lionel Richie, Maroon 5 and Usher.

This singer, songwriter and scholar (a Southern University graduate with a degree in Marketing) began sharing his talents with the world through a series of covers, re-writes, and remixes of chart toppers Rihanna, Leona Lewis, and more. In addition to multiple self-written and co-produced originals; local radio program directors are projecting that Plaquemine's own will be an imminent success in the music industry. After opening for musical acts Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, Big Sean, Monica, Fantasia, and more... this comes as no surprise.

With a wave of notable accomplishments, including being featured by MySpace, Justin began working on his first official album Take It from Here (released in July of 2011). The lead single "Cherry Bomb" became a viral success and was heavily requested at radio. Fans also praised "Paper Heart" for its soaring vocals and musical composition, prompting an early release of the song prior to the album’s retail arrival (due to several leaks on YouTube). The album quickly caught the attention of music enthusiasts and industry heavyweights.

In December of 2011, Justin co-headlined the Acadiana Pre-Christmas Bash at the Cajundome (Lafayette, LA) with Trey Songz, and Plies. Garner’s performance was well received and led to stellar reviews and potential touring opportunities. Since then, Justin has continued to perform and secure dates around the United States and plans traveling abroad to further establish his reach as an emerging artist.

With no intention of slowing down, One Love, a special Valentine’s Day EP, was released in February of 2012. The six-song project shows Justin’s growth as an artist, songwriter, and vocal arranger. Most importantly, it shows his drive and passion for creating music. As stated in his interview with the Advocate, one of Louisiana’s primary newspapers, Justin sings about love, relationships, and experiences and wants to bring emotion back to music. Considering his ambition, consistency, and valiancy, Justin is sure to accomplish that.
